Inland Empire GSP Club Spring Trial

Post by DGFavor » Fri Apr 11, 2008 1:29 am

I had a great time thrashing around with my hounds at the IEGSP Club trial last weekend near Sprague, WA. They always put on a great event with absolutely great people, great food, and great fun - oh, and they turn some dogs loose too! Good ones at that!! If ya' ever get the chance to go, it's a must do!!

Fishtrap

Post by Hotpepper » Fri Apr 11, 2008 9:25 am

If you have never been to Fishtrap and run your dog, it is a great place to go. The gun dog course is as good as it gets, everything is there on the course. Got to go a bit, hunt a bunch, find birds, handle, go with ya, etc. It is just a great place to run a dog.

Doug is correct, that bunch puts on a great trial.

Jambalaya (? sp.) & smoked pork was the main quarry...gawww amighty!! Can't describe it. Salads, desserts! Cold drink! I didn't see any long faces after running dogs all day and if there were, they didn't last long after taking in that spread - content smiles everywhere!! Good little microdrama stories of lost trailer wheels, AA winning handler with bloodied nose courtesy of his horse - for me, it was surviving sub freezing nightly temps without propane (i.e. HEAT!!!!) in my trailer!!

My dogs insist I mention them  :
HBV Dunfur's Plan B - 2nd Open AA
HBV's Cheap Trick - 3rd Am. GD
HBV's Bad Motor Scooter - 4th Open Derby

Good job pups!! Not the big winners but I'm keepin' them if they'll keep me!!

Nice pics Doug, and congrats on the placements, I always hear how the food at that trial is, must be doing something right.

Thanks fellars!

I enjoy takin' pics of the outings - learning more all the time from others on these forums about how to do it and its a nice adjunct to being out with the animals.

Not that anyone cares but, that first pic, I thought it was cool to make - its actually a combo of 6 separate pictures taken from a monopod from the same spot with same exposure/lens setting encompassing 180 degrees, overlapping each pic about 30%. Then I "stitched" 'em all together to make a big arse panorama - printed it off on my photoprinter to make a 13"x19" pano of the Fishtrap trial grounds to frame up and hang with the rest of my goofy photos. Pretty exciting stuff goin' on around the 'ol Favor house - yawwwn!!

That looks like the start of the allage course on top of the hill, the trees in the distance give it away and it is a very good picture.

Pepper
