Robbi,
I didn't realize that you guys weren't staying. It will probably be easier to get your rig in there after a day or two of dry weather. Hopefully, I can sit down and visit with you guys for more than a few minutes!

Erica,
I was just curious. Your posts are so up to date I thought you could have been on the grounds and I had seen a woman with a lap top. I was going to be impressed if they had an internet connection in the club house.

Robbi,
You are getting good with that camera! How are you doing on horses? Do you think you might have one I could rent if I come watch some of the All Age?

Fidler let Don Dalton run his own dog? Rusty looked good in the White Mountains this summer and Chandler said he looked really good in Nebraska at 17 & The Chicken when he put him up. Hope Don does well in the 2nd.

Kbshorthairs,

I am at the grounds and I do have an internet connection! I'm sitting in the Travelmaster outside the clubhouse when I do my posts. I have my laptop with me. I have my wireless modem with me. The connection is not always the greatest, but it's something. So yes I am on the grounds.

Erica,
You have to love modern technology! I appreciate all the updates. I hope to get back for some of the all age, but while at home it is really nice being able to read about what's happening.

Remmy,
What other website did you get the results from? Just curious.

Congrats to Don Dalton (and Don Fidler) and Rusty!!! That is awesome. We are proud to see Magnum's offspring being so successful! You have done a great job with Rusty and all his accomplishments. Can't believe how much he looks like his daddy with that head of his!!
Congrats to all who placed and judge's award of merits also.
Futurity should be finishing up today, have 11 braces left to run of it. All age I believe starting Tues. am, talking about cold, wet (possibly snow?! :o ) weather moving in.

Nancy, An unmistakable resemblance to Mag for sure!! Love how he's posed up in the winners picture! Looks like he's had a lot of practice with that particular pose  . Glad to see Magnum's get getting it done on the big stage.

Congrats to all the winners and best of luck to all those competing!

All age started yesterday, I think they ran through brace 8 (I know they got through 8 as Buck was in it, but was lost), think they are starting with 9. I got a text and think it said starting 9 and not through 9. Guess went through a few, has been raining since about 5:15 this am! Will make for a yucky day if it hasn't let up/stopped. I will keep posted any news I get we were in brace 5 and got around, then Buck and Kess is up today, so we are keeping fingers crossed.

Nancy,
Keep the updates coming! I had planned on watching the all age, but had to go pick up a puppy sooner than I planned. When I left Oklahoma, it was 75 and perfect outside. On the trip to Nebraska, it rained on me the whole way and was 40 degrees when I arrived! It has been cold and rainy all day here. I hate it for everyone trying to showcase a dog. Good luck and be safe.

It is very wet down in Eureka. It broke enough for one day of the AA to run, but the entire day was called due to weather yesterday. Yesterday actually was not too bad weather wise, but the grounds were wet. The forecast for today is worse, but they may run anyway because one of the judges needs to get on the road.

Awoke this morning to around 40 + degrees and blustery wind blowing. Has misted, sprinkled and rained (little showers) off and on all day. We started off a little after 8 am this morning with brace #9 FC TJust Dandy Man-King & Bar-B's Slick Rebel-Sales (both dogs made it around clean), brace #10 was picked up early, Brace #11 was FC Chisholm Creeks Jax OrBetter-Gulledge & FC Prairie Winds Zackly Right-Hongo, Jax got around with 3-4 finds and Zack was lost, the 12th brace was scratched (LB) & Rock-Moreland is moved down, so brace #13 ran FC Slick Kessie Joe-Gulledge & Wild Feathers Face the Music-Long. Kessie made it around clean with 3-4 finds and Face was picked up shortly after break away due to comacausie (?) chuckars out in the open grass. We then broke for lunch, after a short lunch break brace # 14, 15 & a female in season FC DW's Sally's Hilited Affair was to be the last brace of the evening unless they decided to run brace # 16. Should have 5-6 braces left in the AA so should finish up tomorrow afternoon early evening. I do know as Keith and & were leaving the grounds to come home for an evening WildRose Abigail Road had been picked up and not sure about Bella. I'll try to get some more pictures posted. Sorry haven't gotten any of the AA as weather has been so cruddy. And only have futurity pictures of the #3 & #4 dogs @ this time. More to come later.

I arrived down there last friday night after the placements were given for the NAFC and stayed for all the futurity and left on Tuesday 10/28 and made it home around 9:00 PM. OUr lil girl "Tori" didn't get a piece of the futurity but didnt do to bad of a job for a little dog from MInnesota. Phil Mathiowetz has done a nice job with her, thanks Phil.

I got to catch up with lots of friends that I havent seen for awhile. Got to meet some great people from here, Jerry Paddock let me ride in the dog wagon some and it was good to finally meet him in person. Visited with Robbi & Keith, I've met them before but never spent much time visiting. Saw Tim & Erika ZIck along with Pat Vandehie briefly. Had some nice time visiting with Eldon Hongo when we both got out late to the castoff and just sat and talked while waiting for the next brace. Saw John Lunseth briefly and enjoyed catching up with him to, thank you John for that scotch, gives me a whole new apperciation for that type of spirit, The list just goes on and on of the great people I met.

If anyone hasn't been to this event before they should find a reason to go. First class event with some great people.

Well off to hunt pheasants this weekend with "Tori" and the youngster "Storm".

Good luck to everyone thats still there.

Here's pictures of the 08 GSPCA Futurity 3rd place dog Uodibar's Pretty Boy & 4th Place dog Uodibar's Waiting On Daylight both handled by John Rabidou. Nelle the 4th place dog is owned by David & Hayley Killiam and Pretty Boy is owned by John. Enjoy the others will come when the weather gets better (although just thought that they didn't get pictures of Buster the 2nd place dog or at least not while I was up there).

Robbi

You are the greatest, thanks for keeping us up to date. Do so till it is over. I had to scratch and retire LB because of the injury, I want him to make lots of puppies like J R and Pete and not kill him running him with the injury.

Stay warm and dry.

Jer~ Will keep you all posted best I can. I came home with Keith this afternoon after running Jax & Kessie & eating lunch on the grounds. Only had 4 dogs and 6 horses @ the grounds did all the feeding and stuff and Anne & Phil will air and feed in the am and watch till we get back out there. Nice being home, got to wash up some clothes, pay some bills, make out some bills, need to hit the bank and feed calves in the morning before heading back down to the grounds. Should finish up tomorrow afternoon sometime. Will try to hit Jack's after the placements if not coming back home.
TTYS and take care of your boy!!

I left on Tuesday afternoon in the 36 foot motor home and drove to middle Missouri and stopped at a campground, got the 4 dogs out, fed, water, p-- stop and back in the crates for them. Fixed me some dinner in the camper, went to bed early, terrible thunderstorm woke me and got up before 6 and dogs out again. On the road at 7:30am and home at 1:00pm.

Had been out there for 10 days and was ready to get out, the futurity just flat wore me out, terrible to get old.

Just 600 miles but it is much better to break it up.

Congrats Mr. Wasserman! You have some awesome dogs.

Congrats to you too Robbi! Pass that along to Keith as well, but everyone knows that the scout is the most important part of this whole deal! They might have to rename that trial to the Gulledge Memorial!!!

ps I had to pick up my puppy earlier than I had planned so I was unable to get back to the trial. He is a sweetheart.....can't wait for you to meet him!

By any standard, that's nothing short of an amazing accomplishment!! Way to Go Robbi and Keith, fine job for sure!!

Also a BIG congrats to Jax's owner Mark Wasserman, Bet's owner and handler and Kessie's owner's, Randy and Nancy Coffelt. NRC, you knew this had to be her year to score :D .

All the folks that devote the time, money and energy towards proving their dogs at these nationals are largely responsible for the caliber of dogs the average bird hunter enjoys today. It takes a lot sacrifice to just travel and particpate much less achieve any results at this level and IMO the GSP breed as a whole is much better off for their efforts.
