How/where to get involved- central Minnesota

hi all,

I recently lost my 8 year old Yellow lab to cancer and am in the process of looking for another Yelow Lab. I have been thinking of getting involved with Tournament hunts for a few years but never got around to it. I used to shoot a lot of registered trap but haven't done that in a few years and miss it for the competition and friends. Now that I'll have a new dog, I'd like to get into the tournament hunts.

I am thinking this year I'll go to a few to watch, learn and enjoy, but by next year I'd like to be competing.

What would be your reccomendations? Looking on the internet there seems like many different events and I am wondering what is the most fitting for a beginner-


Again, I live in central Minnesota, Zimmerman to be exact
