Andy is taking a vacation from the Quail this year. Will Barbee is spearheading the event. I will have to check for the exact days and running order, but expect it will straddle and include the weekend of January 25,26. I will post more tomorrow.

Mark~

Will Barbee and/or Gene Mason is who you should get ahold of for exact dates. Here's their emails~ Gene Mason: geneandnicki@yahoo.com can't seem to find Will's.

Heard middle to end of January, thinking I was told week earlier than this years 08 Championship. We're also checking/wondering if the LSGSPC will be running a weekend trial in junction with the Quail again or not.

Just received these dates from Blake on the LSGSPC & Quail Championship dates. Quail is January 28-Feb. 4. LSGSPC trial at Roff, OK, an All Age will be offered, is Jan. 22-25. Roff is about 30 minutes from Ardmore, north.

Just got a premium last week from Will and the LSGSPC trial will be held @ Decateur TX and not in OK as I'd been told and as had been ran last year. JFYI

Just to make sure there is no confusion, the LSGSPC trial will be held at Decatur. TX beginning 1-22-09 through the weekend. The Quail will be help at Ardmore, OK beginning 1-28. The two locations are roughly 90 miles apart. The open limited gun dog stake associated with the LSGSPC trial is called the "Bodden" and will pay a minimum purse of $1,500. If anyone is interested in the LSGSPC trial, PM me your email address or email me at ken.tomlinson@sbcglobal.net and I will email you a premium.

I doubt a running order will be posted for the Quail. It is run under American Field rules, so dogs are not entered and drawn until the night before the running of a particular stake.

See my previous post for the dates the stakes are expected to be run.

The Open Shooting Dog started around noon on Wednesday. Think they ran 3 braces on Wednesday. They had 29 or 30 entries. It should be over on Friday afternoon.

The ASD finished yesterday,
Chip owned by Don Kidd handled by Jim Jergens (?) won
Toby handled by James Messer was runner up, they had 20 dogs drawn for it.

All age starts today, if I read it correctly they have 7 braces (13 dogs I think last brace was a bye). So possible to finish today with it, then the derby classic. Robbi thought it would finish Tues.

The Derby Classic started this morning. Will finish the 2009 Quail Championships today.
The all age was finished yesterday.
Winner - FC MRT'S Bingo Buck o:Randy and Nancy Coffelt H: Keith Gulledge S: Robbi Gulledge (its all about team!!! )
Runner up- Dixie o/h Harvey Franco, I was told that Harvey's horse went down with him and he was taken to the hospital and that Gene Mason (I think is correct on handler) finished handling Dixie for Harvey. I will let you know what I find out on how he is doing if I hear anything, or if someone else posts before I do on his condition. Our thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery are with Harvey.

Also want to say THANK YOU to Keith and Robbi for being such a great team and doing a great job with their dogs! We would NOT have had the success we have had without them!!!!!! This is just a great way to start 09 after finishing a great season in 08! Thank you so much you guys, you are only great trainers, but GREAT FRIENDS!!! We love you and Thank you for EVERYTHING!!!
Congrats to all!

Congrats nrcgsp :D Bingo is doing some great things. My girl Jazzy is with Keith and Robbie and hopefully will have a good run today in the derby. I am so excited she has this chance to run with a team like them.

Thanks, I think she was in the first brace this morning. Robbi has told me about her, she goes back to my male Magnum (he was my baby and I still miss him). I hope she does well too!

Buddy is the name of the male that Pat handled to 3rd place. Sorry I don't have any more info on him. As soon as I get my pictures downloaded I'll be sure to post. I don't have the AA or DC as my betteries died on my camera but will get them posted as soon as I receive them.
