BROOMHILL OPEN ALL-AGE CLASSIC
Broomhill, MB—The Broomhill Open All-Age Classic drew an entry of 35 for the running in Broomhill, Manitoba beginning September 18. The judges for the event were Ben Adams of Hopkinsville, KY, and David Taylor of Neola, IA.
The winner was this past season’s Purina Dog of the Year, Lester’s Absolute, owned by Rick Stallings of Alabama and handled by Colvin Davis. According to the judges the caliber of his performance completely separated him from the rest. He was a prairie dog from his race to his find on a big covey of Huns. Taking second was Short Skirt for her owner Jimmy Honea of Georgia. The fancy female was handled by Robin Gates in her big running hour. She had a dandy find on chickens where she was all class. Third was Flatwood Earl, owned by Dr. Robert Kelley from Tennessee. Robin Gates handled Earl in his hour that saw him deliver a very good ground performance. He had a good stand on chickens in a situation that would tempt any dog but he stood pat.
