I'm going to put Bell in a AKC walking trial. What stake should I run her in? I need to know asap... =) Thanks for your help.

I have found the open gundog easier to win than the am gundog.
It does not make much sense from the names of the stakes, yet with many am stakes money stakes, and with the fact that most am continue to run finished dogs in am stakes alone, the open stakes can be easier than the am stakes.
I certainly would not be afraid to run open,I see it here in our
walking trial, right now we have more am dogs than open,
yet we have at least three finished dogs in the am gundog,
with one finished both ways, another a dc,and one 1 point short of his afc, with his fc recieved long ago.
A couple of these dogs have done a ton of winning.
As another example last year we had 4 placements in the am,
with some very nice runs, yet we were forced to withhold all
placements in the open.
we are not yet full in our walking trial in two weeks here in wi.
If your dog is a hunting dog who likes edges, cover this is a nice
course to run.

I’m looking at the one below for bell. I need to enter like now, but I’m not sure if I want to do it. I’d like to finish SH and get a good jump on MH this year, so I don’t need to fool with too many other things I guess…

ret points
if anyone needs retrieving points.... the Delaware Valley gwp club is having their trial Nov 12 & 13th at the English Setter Club in Medford NJ. Both OLGD and ALGD are retrieving stakes and we still have room in both for entries.
