Region 9 Amateur Shooting Dog CH

Post by Razor » Mon Sep 21, 2009 5:55 pm

Fly Boy- M GSP owned and handled by Emmett Burns is the Region 9 AMSD CH.

There were 23 entries I have been told. The runner up was a setter out of Montana I believe. Very impressive win for a GSP. Fly Boy is an impressive dog, that I have had the pleasure of watching a few times.

Very impressive win for a GSP.
Impressive for any dog I'd say!! 28 entries actually from all over the dang western US and Canada. Dave Noell's fancy setter Rowdy was RU - 10.5yr. old dog!! Couldn't freakin' believe it watching that dog go - unbelievable. Each had single finds on sharptails.

Very happy for Fly and Emmett. He has worked dang hard at it - he did more than a few 7 hour roundtrip drives to come work his dog on birds at 'el Rancheria por Favor this summer - sleeping in the seat of his truck at nights. They bagged a championship I've been trying to win forever...didn't even bother entering mine this year with the field of nice dogs they had entered!!

We're still thrashing around out there trying to settle the Idaho Open - couple nice efforts by a couple pointers today with finds on sharpies and huns. I'm up at 7am with the first three braces of the morning...we'll probably be starting the fourth brace by 8am!!

We lost.  Shot my gun a few times though - sharptails and huns. Gotta give my little Trixie some kudos for her nice hunting effort - unfortunately we were competing in a field trial not out shooting birds!!

Congrats to Dennis and Bonny Hidalgo for winning the Idaho Open SD with their pointer male Buck! Super happy for 'em!! They've been great supporters of our trial for years and glad to see 'em be top dogs!!

Off to the NW Chukar SD Ch then the Nat'l Amateur Chukar SD Ch starting Thursday. You'd think I'd learn and just go fishing or something wouldn't ya'!!
