I heard about the OLGD...when I was at Pine Island. Seems a Black & Tan dog won the 48 dog OLGD stake...2x NAFC/FC/AFC Cobb's Golden Kernal, handled by Greg Dixon.

I just got back from the trial about 30 minutes ago and have to unload, decompress and clean up. I'll try to get the results up tonite, but if not tonite then tomorrow morning.

Dan, how did old Buck boy do for you at Portage?

He had an incident with one of the state provided hen pheasants..got on the rope at 15. But pulled a 2nd in the ASD the next day. Turned him loose, had him for 2 minutes, rode to front for 6-7 minutes to find him standing as pretty as a picture. Had another piece of bird work...in about 15" of water....finished nicely. Was a little dis-jointed in the middle of the course, riderless horse....not mine. But I stopped for a bit when the run away came to the front next to my horse.

The place was like running on the bayou or Everglades.....the middle third at least. All in all though the course was in fine shape...but wet.

I do not know if you would call pine island a swamp, but I do know we used no pheasants this spring.Lots of chuckers and quail,no dnr birds at all.
