NGSPA Sharptail - Tom Oswald

Post by DGFavor » Wed Aug 30, 2006 9:14 am

Does anybody know Tom or how to get ahold of him? I've been trying the number listed in the Field premium and all it gets me is a fax machine.

There have been so many trial cancellations in that country this year I want to be sure it's a go, as well as get our entries in, before we head out. I was all loaded up last week to go to the Montana SD Ch. and it was cancelled the day before the drawing.

Thanks!

I don't think I have a better number for Tom Oswald than what you have, but last year Brian Long was in charge. I will PM his info. and you might try him. However, I read a post somewhere that the Sharptail is definitely on.

Got a hold of Bryan Long and it's all systems go on their end. Should be fun.

just out of curiosity why would an event be schedualed and than cancelled with such short notice? I would think if it is an anual event no matter what it would still be held :? :?

They have had extreme drought and very hazardous fire conditions in some places, and in other places they have started to get a little rain. Many are held on private grounds and the ranchers get nervous, with those kinds of conditions, about having vehicles with catalytic converters driving around. The trainers and trialers who put the trials on are generally very good friends with the ranchers, so when conditions become so bad the holding of the trial could risk the rancher's ground, they will cancel. Very uncommon though.

I have heard through the grapevine that Bryan Long won the All Age with K-Man's Guy and the Shooting Dog with Mandy. I didn't hear who took runner-up in either stake.
