Just finished up a few trial swing that included the Reg. 8 NGSPA AA & ASD then the Pacific NW Open SD and Idaho Open SD. The Reg. 10 AAA preceded the Pac. NW trial and I just missed the conclusion of it. The Richardson's facilities in Cheyenne are just phenomenal and their hospitality even more so. A big thanks to them!! As always the Robertson Ranch near Payette, ID provided a ton of birds. Not sure how most braces went but I know on one of my braces, my dog pointed a pair of pheasants, a covey of huns, and a pair of chukars. I think several other folks had similar experiences. Huge thanks to the Robertson's for their hospitality as well! I've got tired ponies, a tired body, a headache this morning from celebrating my buddies RU's this week and am heading to get my truck out of the shop so I can make it back home...so it was a good trip.
Here's what I know or remember - sorry I don't know the registered names of all these dogs and don't know the result of the Reg. 8 NGSPA OSD:
Reg. 8 NGSPA AA (~ 20 dogs):
Spekk/Hongo - Champ.
Papillion/Hanzel - RU
Reg. 8 NGSPA ASD (32 dogs):
Millie/Fidler - Champ.
Stitch/Favor - RU
Pacific Northwest Open SD (~ 25 dogs):
Coby/Kirby (setter male) - Champ.
Copper/Heaton, Jr. (setter female) - RU
Idaho Open SD (25 dogs):
Northbound Traveler/Lee (pointer male) - Champ.
Copper/Heaton, Sr. (setter female) - RU
It's the sharptail opener tomorrow so away with the blank guns and out with the scabbards and shotguns. My poor horses probably think they deserve a rest...not!!
