Nevada Chukar Champships

Post by Boomer » Sun Feb 04, 2007 5:09 pm

Feb 10-11 will the be the first of three events that determind the "Top Dog" of the Nevada chukar champships. First event will be held in Lovelock. March 3-4 in Reno and Fallon in Sept. I was only able to get one dog (Trakker) entered in the compition in Lovelock due to the number of dogs getting in the event. They had to limit the number of dogs to 48.

You and a partner have 30 minutes to bag 6 birds. Points are awarded for
points, reteived bird, bagged bird, and unused shells, (your allowed 12). You also get extra creitd if all six birds are bagged before the thirty minutes. Feilds are about 12 ac in size and 7 birds are planted before each run.....

Just got a phone call and looks like ther was a cancellation so Delta is in.
She runs at 8;00 in the same feild that Trakker does. I hate running two dogs against each other but no choise I guess....

Heres the results. Delta had a decent run for her first time doing these types of events but missed a couple of her points, (running phesants). She did get all six birds but took most of the thirty minutes.
Trakker ran a almost perfect run on Sat. All six birds with only one point that the judge didnt think he held long enough before the flush. We got the six birds in 11 minutes. He made it into the finials after winning his feild. Sunday was a different day for sure... rain, wind, and more wind.
Trakker does not like the wind I guess. Not his best performance for sure.
We did manage to get all six birds but used most of the thirty minutes to do it. He didnt get into the money, but did score some good points to start off the year for Top Dog. Two more events to go.....
