Lone Star GSP Club - John Bodden Memorial Classic FT

After having to reschedule this trial because of Jan weather we finally completed it last weekend. We ended up with 120 entries total.

James Messer and Chloe who won the Bodden last year also did so again this year. A lot of folks are probably looking forward to Chloe’s retirement, but James has some very nice young dogs coming up and demonstrated that by winning the puppy as well. This event is fast becoming one of the premier trials in the South Central region. With a $3000 purse and $75 entry, the club may have to allocate 3 day’s next year to in order to run all the dogs that want to compete. Congrats to the Bodden Champ James and everyone else that placed. It was a huge success this year and Chairman Will Barbee and LSGSPC members that helped out did an excellent job making sure things ran smoothly.

In the picture Will Barbee is presenting the trophy to James and Club President Kevin Temple is holding the plaque.

To heck with Chloe, alot of folks are looking forward to Messer's retirement, he is a force, regardless of the dog he runs.

Congratulations to everyone, most of all Chloe, and especially to you Rodger for sticking with it and pulling this trial off.

Thanks John. It takes a village to raise a trial though. Everyone really chipped in on this one. Andy and Debbie Gerdes we're there every day helping and Debbie worked really hard preparing food and keeping everyone fed. Will Barbee, Kevin Temple, Grant Stanfill and Scott Bodenstab pretty much took care of all the planning and for the most part worked the whole trial. They’re the backbone of the FT side of the club. I got to handle the secretary chores this year, but just on the FT side. Poor Kevin, in addition to everything else he does as Pres, is also doing the secretary job for the next Hunt Test. No rest for the weary as they say.

As for James, he’s always fun to have around and this past weekend was no exception. He had us all laughing while he made sure Mason stayed humble after that large win of his in Booneville. Just a real good guy. One that will scout your dog to a National title while at the same time competing against you. IMO, that says a lot!

All the same, we’ll probably accidentally on purpose misplace all his entries next year. Enough is enough. :P

Talked to Bomer's and Moseley's and they said it was great.

From you guys, I would expect no less.
