Brace times

Post by ckfowler » Mon Feb 21, 2005 7:24 am

I'll add that although everyone calls them braces, you have the field to yourself and run against time, not another dog. Amateurs do just one run for all the marbles. Open dogs run in two fields and add scores with the highest total winning. Doubles has two doga and two handlers but they are on your team and each handler has to shoot three birds, could be over either dog.

That sounds like an interesting format!

One of the things that I am sorta down on about NSTRA is the gamesmanship involved in cutting off your brace-mate to maximize the amount of field (and hopefully birds) that you get to hunt fresh.

Best,

Hey,

What kind of manners are required in the format? I happen to be free that weekend.

Best,
