Just got the report on the winners from the Pacific Coast All Age Championship at Sunnyside, WA. The Pacific Coast Championship is the oldest, and considered by many the most prestigious, trial in the west. It's a Nat'l Championship qualifier trial as well.
I'm pretty proud to report that my hunting/training/trialing partner Rich Heaton found himself in the winner's circle, owning/handling his dog Idaho's Lucky Strike, aka Ben, to be this year's champion!! Runner up was Spectre Pete handled by Rich Robertson and owned by Herb Anderson - that requalified Pete for the Nat'ls again in 09. Pretty dang impressive and I'm bummed I had to be at work and couldn't scout like I usually do - but Rich told me, "you've seen it a hundred times out hunting and training" and I imagine I have, but still it's cool when they get'r done in competition too. That's Ben's 3rd championship - he's 3y.o.
I don't have any great Benjamin pics - here's one standing a covey of chukars hunting this winter:

Ben was bred/whelped/owned/handled/hunted by Rich:
