I have been told that there is no money for mowing so there may not be any trials in Illinois this fall.

What a great governor the state of Illinois has? NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :oops:

Does anyone know if the GSP clubs in IL will be hosting any walking trials this fall or spring?

Boxa,

Link to the GSPCI -Click on Calendar and browse through upcoming events;
http://gspci.org/index.asp

AKC Events page for field trials is Illinois until December 2008;
http://www.akc.org/events/search/index. ... on=results

Do you live in Illinois? I would suggest becoming a member of the GSPCI. There is so much information & assistance available as well as meeting up with other GSP owners, handlers, trainers, trialers, etc. to help find events which interest you.
Another good Illinois club is the Fort Dearborn GSPC which does most events out of Wilmington IL and I am almost sure, but not positive, they have a walking trial in the spring.
Hope this helps you out! :)

No not in IL, just across the river west of STL. I have a couple gundogs that I fool around with and have enjoyed getting into walking trials (when not bird hunting) But I don't own a horse and haven't been able to get to many horseback trials, I saw several horseback trials in IL last year but didn't know of any walking gundog events... please keep me posted.

Thanks for the info... this helps.

I was able to join the Gateway GSP too... forgot to mention that. I agree these clubs are good venues for us dog folks.

I heard from soemone that the Fort Dearborn Fall Trial might be a walking trial. Not sure how true this is, but you should check.

Send an e-mail off to the Fort Dearborn Club, and ask Sharon that question. Sometimes they might, but I can't answer that for sure.
