NEW ENGLAND OPEN GROUSE CHAMPIONSHIP
Berlin, NH— Long Gone Daisey, five-year-old setter female owned and handled by Lloyd Murray of Stark, NH, was named champion of this time honored event. Long Gone Nixon, owned by Long Gone Kennels and handled by Dave Hughes, was named runner-up. Forty-nine dogs were drawn for the three day championship.
Judges Travis Gellhaus of Thunder Bay, Ontario and Kellie Fogg of Buxton, ME, looked over this star-studded field. Daisey and Nixon were braced together in the 29th brace running at lunchtime on day No. 3. It was an action-packed hour.
In the companion Bill Kearns Open Derby Classic, judges Gerald Movelle and Alex Reid named Rockaway (Dave Hughes) first; Wild Apple Jack (Craig Doherty) second; Long Gone Madison (Lloyd Murray) third.
