NATIONAL SHOOTING DOG FUTURITY

Baldwinsville, NY—The Forty-Second National Shooting Dog Futurity was concluded October 5 and featured a banner entry of 71 dogs. Unseasonably warm weather prevailed for all three days of running. Judges Dr. Roger Boser and "bleep" Smith named R J’s Shortstop the winner. The pointer male owned by Ralph Fitzmaurice and Paul Kelly, bred by Calico Kennels, was handled by George Tracy to a two-find performance. Second was pointer female Dance Hall Gal, owned by Roger Schipellite, bred by Carl Lefler and handled by Mike Tracy to a three-find and one unproductive performance. Pointer male Klee’s Calypso, owned by Dr. Roger and Susan Duerksen, bred by Susan Duerksen and handled by Mike Tracy, was third with a three-find performance. Bridges Lake Pat, a pointer female owned by Tim Moore, bred by Larry Moon and handled by Doug Ray, was fourth with two finds and an unproductive.

The stake was a good one with many superior fall Derbies demonstrating outstanding potential. A full report will follow.
