NSTRA Purina Championship

Post by hustonmc » Tue Sep 08, 2009 10:07 pm

Anyone know how the dogs are coming out in the pre-trials? I know the Championship doesn't start until the 10th. If anyone has any friends or family down there let us know, thanks.

I don't know who won yet, but Bruce Lyon and Blick made the top 8 and Paul Stoffler finished 2nd Runner-up. Congrats to you guys. Pauls dog (cannot think of his name) is out of my old Rip and Fritzs dam, Missy. Made us proud...!!! :!:

Your breeding comes through again Brenda. None of our guys and gals made it through, wonder if Boomer X Rated pulled out another seems like he just puts it together for Championships. We will probably put another bid in for a Championship here in the next year or so, you don't have any dogs here in the NW so they'll have to put on a show for our local GSP enthusiast.

a dog named red won it

I had a dead bird in the race of top 8 which prevented me from advancing to top 4 ....I wasn't the only one to have bad luck with dead birds but it was hot and windy and when we were leaving as the sun was coming out again and post toasty doesn't even begin to describe how hot it was...

Blick in the top 8 run unfortunately went birdless...I think My Blazer ended up about 5th or 6th over all and Blick was 7th and then one guy got DQ'd in the top 8 run...

Black had a real nice run in the top 16 braces to make the top 8 cut Bruce was kind enough to be my pacer for the top 16 braces to help me make top 8 also.

Boomer's X-Rated Johnny ran against us this weekend in IN. I think he won one field of the 4 trials held.. Rough weekend for hunting with the hot weather and dust..

Congrats Knine! I have been out of NSTRA for a while, so this may be a "dumb" question, is this a "new" Championship for NSTRA?

The endurance has been going longer then I have been in NSTRA which for me has only been 10 years ....

and there was 64 dogs pretty sad there wasn't more west coast people support the trial to make it 128 dog trial will be hard to get another one out here with lack of over all support.
there was a good handful of east coast dogs that were sent and handled by other people gray thompson was one who came was glad to see him there along with marilyn and bob cummingham and their grandson he handled quite a few dogs for other people there.

I'm sorry, Purina Endurance Championship, I guess everything gets chopped up with shop talk.
The NW sent a good contingent, but losing 2 of the 3 best dogs from the region because they came in heat makes it tough.
