NGSPA Savannah River Championship

Post by Vonrommel » Wed Jan 06, 2010 9:17 pm

Who is planning on going to the Savannah River Championship?

I was thinking about going down and riding a couple of days but was curious as to who might be running.

Alpenblick's Southern Bell won the Continental. She started the new year where she left off! Bell will be at Savannah with Matt.

Is it time for all these Championships to be open to all Continential breeds?I don't see any championships for pointers only or setters only. Some of these breed championship only have eleven dogs in the stake?......Oak

Vern, why would the National German Shorthair Assn open the championships for shorthairs to all continental breeds? I appreciate the Georgia people who have a continental theree and the allbreed for their National Championship that is open to the 4 breeds.

Just wondering!!

We can't get any of the other eligible breeds to run the NGPDA "All German Breed" and that's a national championship.

I understand your question Vern, but I just don't see the interest. We're having enough trouble getting a championship done in 5 days, between 2 AKC trials that at many trials we've had to give up on one weekend. For the most part, we have more entries than we can handle.

Dave

And, We're talking about 1 hour braces, not the 30 minutes or 45 minute qualifiers. Makes a big difference in how many dogs you can run in a day.

I've got to hang around here for inventory at work on Friday, but we may be able to make it there Friday evening or Saturday, barring any need to work on Saturday that is????

As of now the Savannah River Championship and the Reg 16 Championship will be held as scheduled. I am looking at the grounds as I type.
It has been plenty wet no doubt, We have real good drainage. The only change so far is the All Age course. You might want to call Tom Oswald or myself for any change.

Who's names are in the hat to run the all-age with what dogs? I'm still trying to finalize plans to be there and may not get to make it. It would be nice to know who's gonna be there to come watch.

The drawing takes place the night before each stake runs. So we won't know before then.
Show up for a good trial, good time and I promise you will see some very good dogs in every stake
As far as pros: myself, Basilone, Geogan and Wiseman will be there

Hi, Ted

I believe they ran the Derby today, unsure of all the placements but Chris called and told me that my young Daisy placed 3rd. Her first trial. If anyone has any other info that would be helpful. Joe

Unsure if the shooting dog has already ran or if they still need to run it. I spent all of about 45 sec. on the phone with him as I wasn't getting real good cell reception. Any other news let me know. Thanks.
