unfortunately no. he absolutely rock n rolling, eating up the entire course, pointed two birds nicely in deep cover and found a couple more. He ended up having a brain fart in the last 3 minutes that caused him to end up with a 3rd. We have one more shot next weekend at a horseback trial, much easier on this fatguy than a walking trial :D

Have they burned off the grounds yet as the last time I was up there most was 5 feet tall. Makes it really tough on young dogs unless they can find the many paths around the course.

One of my youngsters found a road to his liking a couple of weeks ago. As of a couple of weeks ago it was probably 2 1/2 to 3' tall and didn't look as if it had been burned off.

Yeah, at the Vizsla trial that grass was brutal. Made some nice young dogs look pretty stupid at times. Im a proud owner of one in that category :P

Dont they usually burn it off in the spring? Yea the visla trial was brutal, the dogs that have ran there before knew how to get to the paths and how to stay clear of the tall stuff. That is too bad to because it really takes away from the dogs and it is very tuff to judge when the cover is that tall.

Jerry,

Its been so dry and windy so far this spring I don't know how they'd dare to burn it even if they wanted to.

I figured that as I think they had a burn ban during the visla trial. I was just wondering if they usually burned it off in the spring or if the bird watchers have put a stop to it.

I was there for the Northwest Field event last weekend. It hadn't changed from the V FT. But really, the cover isn't that bad. That's not to say it won't get burned sometime in the next week.

Burning ban? Like that ever bothered the DNR or Park system.

From what I understand every spring they do burns. They don't burn the whole thing every year, they rotate burning patches one at a time.

It was a great trial, Yoda made me proud placing last year in every trial but one. He even managed to get his derby points the last weekend out at the GMBC trial. What a rush this young boy is, can't wait to run him as a broke dog.

Looking forward to the upcoming trials especially the walking trials. :D
