I SO wanted to go this year and then my truck (POS Ford) took a dumper. I just got it back last night and $2,300 later I am ready to roll except now I can't affort to go any where. This fall is most likely Abbie's last year except for the occaisional trip to Eureka for fun. Good luck to all and hopefully someone can post results etc.

Geez Bill at least Dennis calls you. I have not heard from him for 3 or so weeks.

Oil Cooler plug caused the EGR to leak. So while we had it torn apart I had a new HPOP put in to eliminate the 05 curse of the injectors failing due to lack of oil pressure. We deleted the EGR since I am our of warranty.

How's yours. I heard a rumor that Denise has some issues with hers.

Amen. Even though I like the Duramax engine I will never buy a GM vehicle.

Now on to the importanat stuff. Bill since you seem to have a direct line to Dennis give us some results and the AA running order.

Let me see....

Because the company is based in the US, the trucks are designed and made in the US by US citizens and because we, the taxpayers, own a large percentage of the company. If the company does well on its (re-) IPO, it is to the taxpayer's advantage. Doing well on the next quarter's reports would mean a better IPO and is better for the taxpayer.

But, hey, that's me. I'm a bottom-line kind of guy.

Heard yesterday afternoon that my Smithwick's Hard Licker was drawn for the second to last brace in ASD. No word yet if he ran late yesterday or this morning. Will let you know what I hear.

This just in.... Smitty had a blow-up on the breakaway! A bird pop up under the handlers horse just as they started moving at the whisle, poor boy took a couple of steps before stopping!
I feel bad but I m sure Kelly feels worse, since she was looking forward to this trial for months now.

Too bad Brian, sometimes that's just the way it goes but I'd be chewin' some bird planters azz for that one though....

Here's a little sharpie fix for those of us that aren't there. Personally I think it's fake cause I was told flat out last year while at this trial those birds can't be pointed...

I know Brian, just messin' with ya'!! I've been to that trial a handful of times but skipped putting dogs in it the last couple years. They've had my hunting/training partner in the judges saddle there the last two years so I didn't want to run under him (cause he doesn't know what he's doin'...  ). Makes for a good excuse to not go get my azz kicked out there like I always do - stay home and play with our local birds instead, they're alot stupider than the ones they get for those championships!!

63 dogs last year and temps in the 90's, this year a few less dogs but it sounds like the weather has been cool with a little moisture as well, I was told that every dog there has had contact with wild birds on course, sounds like the numbers are up for the area.

Just a side comment on the entries. Someone was suggesting on the Chukar thread that entries are down across the board this year, and it just isn't so. This OSD will take 4 1/2 days to run assuming good weather, and that is just one stake at the trial. They have all they can handle. Pretty good I would say.

Not quite what the little birds have been telling me - more like every dog has had a chance for bird contact on course, i.e. they are riding them up but not getting them found/pointed - probably too hot, too cold, too dry or too wet.

I did hear a dog went thru with 7 finds yesterday which is cool...also heard that Angry Rancher ran in brace 3 followed by County Sheriff in brace 4 then I'll Run Over Your Dog in 5 followed by Get the heck Outta Town in 6. Heard that I'll Probably Be Late to the Line was up in first brace this morning!!   Hopefully they're actually really having a good time, a good trial and should be able to come up with a winner in the OSD at least!!

just heard via facebook from Kelly. The Open Shooting Dog was won by Hayley Killam - Deke handled by Pat Waresk and the Runner up was Spot - owned by John Lunseth and handled by Eldon Hongo. they ran a derby classic. Jemma won the Derby classic handled by Dan Dimambro and twitter went runner up with Twitter handled by Dennis Brath. Both dogs are on Pat Waresk team. Congradulations to all of the owners.
