Has anyone checked out Pine Island? Last fall, the DNR wouldn't let us ride horses across that small piece of marsh where you plan on casting off !...vern

Thanks Vern. One of our club members sits on a board that works with the DNR for the WI pointing dog trials. I will confirm with him...yeah lots of snow and rain really can "move the course". Being a 45 minute stake allows us a little more flexibility. Stop out and say hi!

No - walking stakes. You can scout and ride in the gallery on horseback. No wheelers are allowed on the DNR course except, I believe one, for bird planting/dog wagon...stop out and introduce yourself! I should be there Fri. - Sun.

Went out there yesterday training and they have a load of gravel that needs to be spread at the breakaway, but I think they are going to need alot more than one. Pretty wet out there, wear your knee boots.
But on a positive note, they mowed down just about every spruce type tree out there. They also cleaned out some of the smaller popal stands. Course looks much different, but better.
