It's looking like a good turn out. Theres still time to get in on the action. Joe (Gittrdonebritts) will be raffling off a Male, Org and White Britt but that is just a bonus. This will be a blast and is nice to put a face to a name. Just let me know if you are thinking about making it or are planning on coming.

I live in Central Illinois as stated in my "new member" post. This fall after the crops come out I would be willing to open up our property to training If anyone would be interested. I would prefer blanks be used v.s. live shot just for safety and insurance reasons but I know not all are fortunate enough to own land. I do have an area for horses if anyone would like to bring theirs for the exercise/experience. And there are a few hotels not far from us. IF you are interested just let me know. And we'll see if we can work something out. I know I need to work my dogs and could possibly get some birds if there is an interest. I currently have 2 out pens fairly good sized but my two females that are for sale are currently occupying 1. Just an Idea I thought i'd throw out there.

Sorry I won't be able to make the July event...too short a notice and not been feeling the greatest lately.

I know I could use a few pointers and by pointers i mean tips. It's been over a year since i was really able to work the dogs well. I might be able to get some domesticated birds as well if someone is interested. And as I said, motels close, place for horses, running water NO indoor housing for horses or dogs but the land is here. There is also a state park not too far from the farm here that does have equine camp ground...but don't know what their regulations and what not would be. If this is something that ya'll are interested in just let me know. :D

Just like Ezzy stated, please let us know if you need pigeons. I will be needing a count so I can let my supplier know how many I will need. The cost will be $2 a piece. Depending where Ezzy will be bringing us this time hopefully we can use some of his homers for steading work and mine for shooting. Plus it sounds like Ezzy can get some as well.

Hello All,

I'm the new guy who'll be attending.

My name is Pat and my 9 month old ESS is Buster. We live in McHenry County. I've been training Buster on my own as I can't afford to send him away to "camp" so this opportunity is golden for us. I've been working with him since he's been 10 weeks old, introducing him to cover, obedience, retrieving, etc, and to this point he's been a real champ. Of course that's a rookie's opinion.

I'm really looking forward to meeting everyone and I'd like to get some objective opinions on my dog's abilities as well as get him introduced to some live birds.

Thanks

Hey Guys,

Is the July 30th date set ?

That's the same day as the waterfowl blind site drawing for the Fox Chain, and I need to be there because I have no other real duck hunting options.

Brittlver,

If you guys change the date, I can be there and will use 5 birds, if not, I won't need those birds.

You can count me in as confirmed for 5 birds.

The potential long term benefits I see here far outweigh the short term conflict for me.

Will do, there are always places to duck hunt, I am sure Joe or me or someone else can always help you find a good duck hunting spot. If it didn't cost me an arm and leg I would come down there to take you out. But the licenses are a killer for me.

Thanks Jesse,

I've already shelled out the bucks for a Wisc small game lic and a State waterfowl stamp, so I'm ready to treck North if you ever have an open spot in the blind.

My blind is always open to whoever wants to come out. Since you have a small game license too we could hit up the pheasant fields in the afternoon too. Make a whole day out of it. I am thinking about getting my licenses for IL if they aren't to bad.

Jesse, I wish I could make it. I really enjoyed meeting and talking with the ones who made it last time. I work every other weekend and had to ask off for a commitment this weekend, and just can't take another one so close together. I appreciate your's, Ezzy's and Joe's dedication to make these happen. And to Jonsey, I think it is great that you are making the trip and volunteering your time, although I know if there was an actual seminar, there would have to be a charge. Just keep making it happen guys and I know I can make some of them. :D

Tell him you want to make a weekend out of this. You could come to the training day and learn alot from Jonesy on Sat. then make your way to Chicago for a day there. I know my wife would prob. love that. Or you could just hang out in the area with us and stay at one of the campgrounds and drink beer all night. (P.S that is what I am thinking about doing. :D )

Jesse

P.S.S. My wifes B-day is Aug. 3rd. To bad Joe sold the pup that he was going to raffle off. I know she would love a Org/White Brit. Perfect B-Day present for her.

Or, I could go to Chicago with the youth mission trip that week, leave Tucker at Ezzy's and stop by for the training on the way home.

Doubt it will happen, but it's fun to dream.

Been counting young unflown homers I can have available for our July 30th training day that any of you can have to take home with you for $3 each and I can come up with somewhere near 100 birds. Some will be my racing homer birds and some will be just homers. I will need firm orders though if I am to get them and have them here for all of you.

Let me know.

1 week to go... I'm jazzed. It's been too hot to do any field work with Buster, so we've been playing at the lake:

Anyone up for some trap shooting. Was thinking we could have some fun after we get done training the dogs and shoot some clays. Anyone have a good launcher they would be willing to bring. Of course you would have to provide your own guns, shells and clays but I think would be a blast.

We can come back to the house and we can grill here where we can sit in the shade.

It's not how many breaths you have taken but how many times it has been taken away!

Has anyone noticed common sense isn't very common anymore.
