reading the bracing sheet makes my head spin! I don't know how you guys keep it all straight, dogs on the right course, and don't kill each other! 185 dogs and many trials aren't getting enough to run a single course for two days.
Hope it goes well... I'll be rooting for my guys from all the way from PA! Wish I could be there.

Some guy named Doug S. Has a 50% chance of getting first in open Derby.

Looks like a full trial with a nice field of dogs.

I'm Doug S. And me and my dogs won't even be there. Found out I gotta work, and my trainer has to leave after Friday, so my dogs will be leaving then too. If I'd have known it was only 4 dogs I wouldn't have entered anyway.

Fuzz~That trial usually has 250 to 300 dogs. :o Dohse and Heiner aren't going to be there, and Barber either. And then Jim's leaving early. This one should run pretty well compared to the REAL freak show it usually is. Even when it is really big, Bob and Jan Erbe run a really good trial! Probably the biggest weekend trial in the country.

I knew who that Doug guy was. Those Ricky Ticky dogs don't give you away. Work seems to be in the way a lot this year. At least we have a job though.

I think the usual PROs are there, Dohse is not usually there anyway and Barber I have never seen there and Hiener is in Goergia. Pretty much Gulledges, Armburst , West and Mathewitz for Pros and a bunch of amt handlers so I dont think the numbers are down that much if any. Still a pretty large trial with allot of stakes for both the Pros and Amt handlers and one of the toughest weekend trials in the country, so the winners deserve the win. Good luck to all.

Jerry~Dohse IS usually there. So is Barber. Pat Waresk is usually there. Bryan Long shows up sometimes. Those guys usually bring their amatuers too. The numbers are definately down. They were definately ready for more entries than they got. Why do you think it was scheduled for 5 days? I've only missed a couple in the last 10 years, and I don't remember you being there at all.

Like I said earlier, this trial averages between 200-300+ dogs.

Doug is right about the numbers, it usually exceeds 200 dogs. And I have seen it approach 300 a couple of times. I am suprised the other pros are not there. They do not miss very often. My dog Trey is entered in the LAA and Keith Gulledge will handle him. I will be stopping by this weekend and I had to scratch Trey out of the AAA because of broken ribs as a result of a fall at the Chicken Championship. But, still a big trial compared to others around the country.

I have been out to that trial and many of the Lincoln trials on and off for about 20 years, starting back when the pros were Paltani, Newcomb, Krommina, Rosanick, and Merkle and a few of the older Pros of today like Kieth and Phil, as well as judged it many times both Spring and Fall trials over the years. I have missed the last few fall trials with coaching football on Friday nights but my dogs were there, in all the years out there I just dont remember Barber being there but it may have been the few times I was gone in the fall.

My GSP Bolt (Kesie's Slick Lightning) took 3rd place in the AWP. It was his first placement and first field trial!

Congratulations, on your placement with your young dog. I hope you have many more and put lots of blue ribbons on the your dog. The main thing is sounds like you are having fun and enjoy field trialing.

That was funny Jerry, Keith & Newcomb started at the same time and I know Phil started w/ Merkle way back when too. Sure they all will love being called the older ones.

It was a nice laid back trial for a change, still worked our butts off but had a great weekend.

After I posted that and read it I figured you might get a kick out of that, those old guys like Keith and Phil, then I thought to myself heck that make me old just being around at that time and knowing all of them and the dogs back then. Oh well we are older and wiser today even Keith  but we just go to bed a little earlier these days. Good luck down at the Nationals.

I guess we all get older with time. I remember Keith the first time I saw him. It was at the Nationals at Branched Oak when Koonas won the Championship and Keith took runner up with a liver shorthair. Unfortunately with age, I forgotten the name of that dog Keith was running at that time. I remember it vividly when Koonas was on point and Lee Sienkowski Jr. (who was handlng the dog because I believe John Rabidou had a broken arm) was allowed to collar the dog after flushing the bird. About a half a dozen more chukars flew up after that. How time flys.
