GSPCA NAGDC Roll Call; Who's going?

Post by AHGSP » Thu Sep 22, 2011 8:01 pm

Just curious how many from here will be going to the NAGDC in Iowa? I'm stopping on my way back from S.D. so Jon can run Wyatt and would love to meet some fellow GDF'ers, that perhaps I haven't had the opportunity to meet before.

It will be great to meet you in person Tony, we'll have to share some hunting tales over a beverage!
It will be good to see you Ken and then I'll be much better able to explain the entire Coverdog concept much better than trying to type it out! LOL!

C'mon, I know of at least a few others going..... Being without any responsibility at this Trial other than to take care of the dogs that I have with me and go watch a bunch of good dogs run, I'm going to have time to BS!

I plan on going to watch as I have no dog to run yet. Time to get her to the trainer for next year maybe.

Leaving Friday morning to get there. Mike's left leg is a little sore, can't see anything, but he'll be there. He ran two hard AA in Nebraska this last week so he's resting.

Looks like the first brace is going to be a good one, both are Snips dogs.

Go Pixie!! Sure would be great if she won this. Good luck Ken and everyone that runs.

Mark, when are you going to show up? Bring the puppy - you know which one. Are you brining any smoked barbecue?

Chase Verdoorn has three dogs in the last three braces, I would say he has good chance of placing if not winning this year

Third Brace both dogs still down at end of brace. Since I do not ride the braces I have no idea if the dogs had bird work in second series.

Brace four both dogs made it around to the end. However, bottom dog was birdless.

Brace five top dog picked up and bottom dog made it to time. I do not know is there was any bird contact. The brace just finished and is on the way in.

Lots of very nice dogs, of which, I would have no problems with feeding any of them! Got to see some great old friends I haven't seen in a long time and meet some new, all while spending a lot of saddle time and watching a bunch of good dogs. Doesn't get much better.
Tony, It was an absolute pleasure to meet you and Dougie. You are a true Southern Gentleman and I'm looking forward to shooting the bull more with you at the Trial this weekend.
Ken, As always, it was good to see you and my greatest appreciation for sharing your coffee pot! LOL!
Howie, Where were you? Would have loved to have talked Grouse Hunting and dogs..... Especially Grouse Hunting!!!!
Jen and Dennis, As always a tip of my hat to you both for being such wonderful representatives of the sport and more importantly, folks I'm proud to be able to call friends.

I gotta say, these were some absolutely beautiful grounds and truly was a Championship caliber location. My hat is off to the Sponsoring Clubs and all of the folks that made it happen. I only wish I could hand off one of my personal dogs to an Amateur Handler without a paperwork transfer to run, but alas, it was still great to just ride and watch!

Congrats to all who were recognized. Tough stake too, with 30 dogs and over two thirds of the bunch finished FC's or AFC's... it was a stacked deck. The two series championship adds an interesting challenge too, quite an event with lot's of nice dogs to watch.

Big Congrats again! Quite an honor, indeed.

32 hours round trip for me, would do it again . Great trial, good food, and met a lot of people that's on here. Tough competition. Many good dogs . Great job by the host. Thought i was at wrong place when i drove up, 30+ horse trailers with LQ's .I parked in the economy lot. Congrats to all winners, as Caleb said 20+ AFC/ FC in field.
