Has anybody heard how the grounds are at Booneville this year? Are all three courses available or we will be using parts of couple of courses because of flooding?

Heard it has flooded some parts. They only have 1 1/2 hours of course. Similar to what they had a few years ago. Probably no course 2 and only half of 3. You just go in circle for hour then start next brace. The only hard part is the sharp right turn on course 3 to get back on course 1.
Good luck to all participants. Hope there is a lot of bird work.

Only 6 out of 12 dogs around clean today. The course they're running is all dry. A couple of hairy spots to turn a dog. The course repeats that the Barking Dog house. Really warm, dry and no breeze this afternoon. We'll see what tommorrow brings.
Few corrections Joe:
Brace 1A was Uodibar's Fly High Freebird
Brace 6B handler was Brooks Carmichael
Sorry for the typo's, late last night getting them typed up!

Booneville definitely is a tough place to run.
It separates the ones that just like to run and just happen upon a bird and win, and those that are bird dogs and can still cover the country.
Birds are not a given like at Eureka(chicken farm). Lots of people don't like it because they don't find birds.
The debate goes on every year about where birds are released. Who releases them, and so on.
Curious to see who puts it all together. There are some really good bird dogs that Can cover the country this year.
Best of Luck to all this year.

If you look at the names of the dogs, I'd say that isn't the SD. Pretty good chance that is the AA National.

That's the National Championship Jerry, the National SD won't be drawn till tomorrow night. And that is all the AA dogs had 4 scratches before the drawing or else would of had 23 instead of 19 dogs. :0(

Congrats Hank Lewis and Chris Goegan winning with "Kane".
This just makes my Kane pups even better.
It was just a matter of time before Kane won the big one. He has been a consistent winner for the past 4-5 years.

Thanks. I am glad we can add National Ch. to Kane's resume. I think he is too nice nice of dog not to have a National Title. I know time was ticking as he turned 8 last fall. Chris & Jimmy did an outstanding job with him this year. I would like to thank the judges Heinz & Ziggy for looking at him.

Aggie is a super nice dog. Watched him for several years now judging. That means Bolt's mom and dad are National Shooting Dog Champions. He should turn out great also.

Sorry for the late post~ We won the 2012 NGSPA National Shooting Dog Championship with NSDC/FC H's Hedge Rise Ignited "aka Aggie". Aggie is owned by Harlan Higganbotham of Marysville, MO and handled by Keith.
This National win makes our #52 National title BDK has won!!! I'll get on photobucket and get the picture uploaded and post. Judges were Jim Kermott & Bill Landress from CA. Also in the picture was Mike Aldrich owner of runner up Champion Dress Blues "aka Buddy" and Dan DiMambro of Monkeyshine Kennels.

I watched Keith handling Aggie and it was a great race, one of Aggie's best. There was no doubt he was the dog to beat after that race. As result he won the NGSPA SD championship. Again congratulation to Keith for handling the Aggie, Robbie for scouting and finding him on point both times. Job well done by all.

Congrats' to all. To those that have never been, this was my first. What a great group of trialers. I went down there not knowing anybody but Dennis Brath and Dan DiMambro. I was treated like I have been there since day one. All the talk of stuck up trialers is Pure BS. I ran dogs with the best, had dinner with most and met almost everyone there. Made a ton of great new friends, talked dogs, and can't wait to get together with some down the road. One thing everyone had in common, we all wanted to see the best dogs in the country.
Thanks to all of the pro's and the amateurs that made me feel like it was just another trial for me. Great to meet the young blood that is all about the breed. Nobody ever made me feel like it was a cutthroat game. Every brace that was ridden with them was about how the dog on the ground was doing in a competitive way instead of a jealous or malicious way.
Props to the Judges for also making me feel that way. If the young guys eventually can step up, we have a great group to continue the future of this event.
Thanks and congrat's to all that entered, ran, and to those that pulled it off.
