They will start with brace 36 on Thursday morning in the amateur, looks like 2nd series to start on Friday. Depending on callback numbers, they could start the futurity on Saturday.

I thought the to enter the NAFC the dog must be amateur owned?
From what I have read on Sixxem website, this dog is co-owned with Keith Bryant.

Has the GSPCA changed the rules on this?

Just for the record under the GSPCA Guidelines for running the national event it states
the following

"Dogs must be amateur owned and if co-owned the co-owner need not be an amateur. The handler of each dog shall, in the opinion of the National Field Trial Executive Committee, meet the definition of an Amateur Handler for Point Breed Field Trials that is contained in the AKC Field Trail Rules and Standard Procedures."

It's a great win for all four of the dogs that placed in the NAFC as well as the dog that received JAM . Congratulation to all.

Only reason I asked a few years back the NAFC title was removed from FC Clowns Early News (Scoop) over ownership.
The ownership issue was never an issue until the announcement was made and she was declared the winner! Then ownership became a big question.

I was just asking a question and no disrespect to the winner.

Not since I can remember but might have been yrs ago not sure about that.Gun dog running last cost me entry fees the last time Star was entered because she drew 37th brace & Chris had to leave that day to get back to Wye Island for the Phez.CH.

This is the first year I have a dog entered in OGD and that was a big concern for me too knowing Dan has to make it to Wye Island also. Luckily we drew 14th brace.

Java / porter are up next. They had somewhere around 5 scratches this morning . Think it has something to do with the heat. If any dog can run in the heat, java is a monster.

75 seems pretty nice to me. I would think the best GSP AA dog in the country should be able to handle 75.

It was supposed to be up to 86.... I would still run mine. Heck its only an hour. :)

75 is not bad at all in my opinion, they should be able to handle that with ease. :?

Highs approaching 90 today and windy. Our weather says 75, but hasn't updated to the actual 80+ it is right now. Might not be the dogs that are problematic, but the horses.

HA HA HA HA HA That is awesome. If a horse can't handle an hour in 80 degrees, you need a different ride!!!

I talked with one of the officials on the AA. He said only 4 dogs were scratched yesterday and 2 of the dogs that were scratched had nothing to do with the heat. Also the afternoon heat was in the upper 80s, not the 70s mentioned previously.
