Oregon Championships

Post by DGFavor » Tue Oct 23, 2012 7:28 pm

Ran up to Condon, OR last week/weekend to make my donations to the Oregon FTC and the Columbia River FTC. Awesome trials, very cool place. Moved lots of huns, a few coveys of chukars and the always dreadful planted poultry. I'd certainly give it a thumbs up and high recommendations to anyone that likes to compete with their dogs to put this place on their list of places to go.

Cascade Open All Age Championship:
Ch: Idaho's Clean Sweep, H-Sheldon Twer
RU Ch: Tekoa Mtn. Jettsun, H-Erick Mauck

Region 10 Amateur Shooting Dog Championship:
Ch: HBV's Cheap Trick, H-D Favor (Trixie!!)
RU: Royalrun's Cole Miner's Daughter, H-Dave Fowler

Region 10 Amateur All Age Championship:
Ch: Tekoa Mtn. Jettsun, H-Erick Mauck
RU Ch: HBV Dunfur's Plan B, H-D Favor (Bugsy!!)

Not sure of the placements in the Northwest Open SD Championship other than I know it wasn't my dog!!

Glad I was there to witness Bugsy do his thing. For all the readers ole Bugs finished his hour about as strong as you could hope for a AA dog in real bird country to finish. And Bugs is all that 100% bird dog. The best part though Doc...... When everyone else dismounts to work a bird they walk up to the biggest bush in front of the dog. You actually work wide and work twoards the dog, kinda like you've hunted wild birds before. :) Once again it was a pleasure, and Ebb was a good ole boy, give him an extra flake of hay for me.

Congratulations! That really is a beautiful spot. I was there on Thurs. running Gertie in a derby but it sounds like I should have stuck around. Anyway, nicely done and maybe we'll catch you next time.

Yah, minus the foray into a steep, rocky canyon, turning his hearing aids off for awhile, and putting us in catch up mode for a few minutes I thought 'ol Bugs put in a heck of an effort. His last 45" minutes I thought were pretty phenominal. Glad you made it out to watch and really glad my dogs didn't totally stink it up!!

Dang rough two lane highways - I was watchin' that crack travel across the windshield the whole way!!
