BORDER INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
Stoughton, SK— The Border International Field Trial started on September 7 with 16 in the Open Derby and 29 in the Championship. Judges for the Derby were Ron Bush of Georgetown, GA, and Scott Kermicle of Dry Ridge, KY.
First in the Open Derby was Mega Touch, handled by Andy Daugherty. Second was awarded to Mega Bucks, handled by Collier Smith. Placing third was Mega Lovely Lady, handled by Andy Daugherty. All three winners are owned by John Sayre of Richmond, IN, and Bob and Sarina Craig of Hatchechubbee, AL. It was a “Mega Clean Sweep” for John Sayre and Bob and Sarina Craig in the three major Derby stakes held in Canada. Mega Touch won the Saskatchewan Derby, Mega Lovely Lady won the Sullivan Derby and Mega Touch completed the tri-fecta with his win in the Border Derby.
The Championship was judged by Scott Kermicle and Jerrell Bryan of Philadelphia, MS. Mega Diamond was named champion and Cypress Gunpowder earned runner-up. Both dogs were handled by Andy Daugherty. Mega Diamond is owned by John Sayre and Bob and Sarina Craig. Cypress Gunpowder is owned by Dr. Larry Mitchell of Franklin, TN, and David Nutt of Ridgeland, MS.

BROOMHILL OPEN ALL-AGE CLASSIC
Broomhill, MB— Judges Karen Jones and Cody Anderson of Tilston, MB, watched 33 contenders in the Broomhill Open All-Age. The trial began September 7.
First was Ard Righ Justina, owned by Dave Breslin of Walpole, MA, and handled by Colvin Davis. Second Super Shadow, owned by John Neeley and David Reddish, handled by Robin Gates. Third was Flatwood Silver, pointer male owned by Dr. Everett Crouch of Jacksonville, FL, handled by Gates.
In the Open Derby 10 dogs entered. First was Ace’s Wild Agin, pointer male owned by Albert and Lois Ann Necaise and Korry Rinehart, and handled by Colvin Davis. Second was Vandalier owned by Dr. Angelo Lurus and handled by Robin Gates. Third was Valley View Mattie owned by Eugene Barnhart and handled by Davis.

MANITOBA CHAMPIONSHIP
Broomhill, MB— Judges Torben Hansen of Reno, NV, and David Taylor of Neola, IA, presided for the Manitoba Championship which began September 11. Thirty-four dogs were entered.
The winner was Lester’s Absolute, pointer male owned by Rick Stallings of Montgomery, AL, and handled by Colvin Davis. Runner-up was White Powder Pete, pointer male owend by Bert Wimmer of Rockville, IN, handled by Colvin Davis.
The John S. Gates Memorial Open Derby drew nine dogs and began on September 14. The Pelican Open All-Age Classic has drawn 38 and will follow with the Pelican Open Derby which drew 9, wrapping up the field trials in Broomhill, MB. Judges for the Pelican stakes are Rick Carlisle of Grand Junction, TN, and Sheldon Twer of Oakdale, CA.

SULLIVAN FIELD TRIAL CLUB
Stoughton, SK—The Sullivan Field Trial Club held its trial September 4-6 at Stoughton, SK.
Advertised judges Jerrell Bryan of Philadelphia, MS, and Ron Bush of Shellman, GA, presided.
In the Open All-Age (29 pointers and 1 setter), first place went to South’s Late Night, pointer male owned by Dr. David J. "bleep" of Augusta, GA, handled by Rick Furney. Second was Cypress Gunpowder, pointer male owned by David Nutt of Ridgeland, MS, and Dr. Larry Mitchell of Franklin, TN, handled by Andy Daugherty. House’s Snake Bite, pointer male owned by Tom Faller of Springfield, IL, handled by Andy Daugherty, placed third.
Nineteen competed in the Derby. First was Mega Lovely Lady, pointer female owned by Bob and Sarina Craig and John Sayre of Hatchechubbee, AL, handled by Andy Daugherty. Placing second was Skyline Matrix, pointer male owned by Kent Abbott of Hydro, OK, handled by Larry “Fuzzy” Smith. Third was Flatout Big John, pointer male handled by Rick Furney.
