ABOUT THE SEMINAR
In this seminar, Stephen will discuss and demonstrate his positive methods and can work directly with you and your dog. Concerned about backing, bumping (other dogs) or blinking, or bird-busting? He’s got the answers you need. Concerned about crowding, ranging too far, not responding to field commands? No problem. Won’t hold point? Refuses to retrieve to hand? Can’t handle running birds? Flags on point? He will show you how to fix those, too.
Owners and trainers who have “tried everything” contact him when they need to know what works. “Outdoor Life” has called him "an extremely perceptive dogman" and “Sports Afield” called his work "excellent." Garvey Winegar, Award-winning, Outdoor Feature Writer for the Richmond-Times-Dispatch wrote: "I've seen this guy handle dogs. Strange dogs. Dogs that were almost basket cases. He's amazing."
For more than 20 years, Stephen’s philosophy has been: “Tell me the problem and I’ll show you how to fix it.” This seminar provides you with that opportunity.
ABOUT STEPHEN RAFE
Stephen bred, owned, trained, hunted, and competed bird dogs for more than two decades. One of his dogs was New Jersey's Amateur Bird Dog of the Year (American Field -- Restricted Breed). He has also studied behavior and psychology so his methods are based on solid research not on hearsay.
His book, Training Your Dog for BIRDWORK, received outstanding reviews and was reprinted several times before being retired in favor of his more current work. Stephen served as the Dogs Editor for "Quail Unlimited” for more than 20 years and also as the Dogs Editor for "Woods & Waters -- Virginia and Maryland" and “Grouse Point Almanac.”
His training methods have been featured in several outdoors publications, including "Outdoor Life" (six times), "Sports Afield" (three times). His articles have appeared in "Hunter's Whistle," NSTRA's newsletter, and other national publications including "Game & Fish,” “Fur-Fish-Game,” “Retriever Journal,” “Just Labs,” “Pointing Dog Journal,” and others. His Gunshyness Cure System has been called "fantastically successful" by "Outdoor Life and "guaranteed" by "Sports Afield.”
Stephen has conducted seminars throughout the United States, in Canada, and in Venezuela. He has also addressed national conferences of the American Fisheries Society, the National Hunter Safety (Education) Association, the North American Wildlife and Natural Resources Conference, the Governor's Conference on Our Hunting Heritage (South Dakota), national conventions of Quail Unlimited, and national conferences of the Outdoor Writers Association of America (OWAA).

It's not how many breaths you have taken but how many times it has been taken away!
Has anyone noticed common sense isn't very common anymore.
