would anybody be interested if i put together a pretty big hunt at a Hunt club here in central illinois? for $150 per person you'd have 10 pheasant 5 chukar and 5 quail released typically we'd like to have 3 or 4 man groups so thats 60 or 80 birds per field

If I don't have much going on the day you do it I may be interested.
How are you putting out that many birds for $150?

I have the same thoughts as Larue. How big are these fields? And how many people and dogs are you planning on having in the field at a time? It sounds interesting as a fun day but 4 or 5 birds in 10 acres is a lot if you want any type of dog work. I'd much sooner have a place we can run dogs and have a few bird contacts than to have so many birds it just becomes a slaughter.

Hope this doesn't sound too harsh either because I like the idea if the details could be worked out.

It's not how many breaths you have taken but how many times it has been taken away!

Has anyone noticed common sense isn't very common anymore.

Any time I have ever went to a preserve I have had them set the birds in 2 rounds because even 5 birds in a 20-30 acre field is not going to take very long to shoot.

I'll try and work out the details guys and let you know exactly how big the fields are and if theres a way we could spilt the bird releases up. We ran a few of these last year and they worked out well. My group never had more then 2 dogs on the ground at a time its alot of shooting i think the most birds anybody actually took home out of 80 was like 50 as you obviously wont get them all. We'd need at least 20 guys to put one of these together so i'll get that information and see what we could do

You've obviously never been to my preserve then. Very tall and thick grass!

When we go we do 4 hour hunts. Even with thick fields you have 2 hours per set. Plus we are hunting 4 dogs most the time.
