I'd say Rio's Rising Renegade will represent well as another western wild bird dog. And a common theme for some winning dogs lately, Dunfurs Morticia not to far away on the bottom. Dunfurs Tule Moon did it on the AKC side, lets get it done on the AF side.

I hope everyone brings warm cloths as the highs towards the end of the week are only supposed to be in the low to mid twenties and lows in the single digits, but that's the upper Midwest for ya. Good luck to all.

I have no doubt that max,(dunfur's tule moon) could win af events,I have watched her run a number of times and have watched bob salamones molly more. They are very similar in what they do,with max bigger out west while molly is unbelievable in where she goes in the cover.Lets not forget that most of the af dogs ran at eureka against max when she won,and molly was in the last brace of the invite last year while being handled by bob himself.

I watched Tule Moon run at the Nationals. There is doubt in my mind she could win in any AF shooting dog race. She had a beautiful race in both the Amateur Championship and the Gun dog championship. She won the Amateur and was runner up in the Gun Dog championship. You could not ask for a nicer dog.

I do not envy the handlers, judges, help etc. It is going to be downright miserable. I hope everyone has plenty of warm clothes.

Its going to be tough on all but especially the judges as they are the only ones that have to ride every brace. My guess is it will be a pretty small gallery watching each brace and thats a shame as this type of event with the caliber of dogs should be fun to watch. The cold air is one thing that you can handle but its that north wind on top of the cold air that really takes a bite out of you if its blowing. I'm heading down sat to drop off a few dogs maybe see ya there.

I hope the travel for all and the conditions for horseback and all are safe or they shut it down and wait. Great championship and just want everyone humans, dogs, horses, vehicles to be safe, no problems or issues.
Because she was born in my basement and is a prodigy of Scampi (morticia and Hoosier Buddy), that is where my rooting will lay. Indy just needs to be Indy, so many nice dogs, bad weather or not would like to ride the whole thing. Bomer's Cash dog had a great part in this girl as well.

Chance of snow on sunday but only maybe an inch or so, fri and sat basically just cold with highs in the teens. I would assume most of the participants are already there or will be there sometime today as it starts tomorrow so no turning back now.

Yes she has had a pretty good fall season. Congrats to owner/ Breeder Fred Ryan. We had some other notable performances in this trial and were very proud of all of our dogs. Looking forward to running her again there next year and getting a few more qualified to throw at em never hurts. The trial is one one classiest events I have been to and the KIllams and their crew did an excellent job running the show. Larry Smith has beautiful place to run great bird dogs and the grounds are a fit for a championship of this caliber.
Thanks for all that contacted us to congratulate us on this win!

I am not as familiar with this event as the Quail invitational in Kentucky, but was the day that was omitted, the 3rd day, the endurance portion of the trial? I know the 3rd day of the quail runs two hours.

The thrid day was omitted in this event this year but only happens under special circumstances. So let the rumors begin. The judges made the right decision, the weather forcasted was terrible and they did not want to chance loosing their top dog from my understanding. I like the format of the trial it is a little different especially when it is in the single digits!!!

The third day at this event was scheduled to run AT LEAST 60 minutes. If your in the area or even if your not this is an event I would NOT miss. Probably the best field trial I've ever attended!!

I thought maybe they invoked the Mercy 10-Run Rule like we used to use in T-ball!

You're close to spot on per another handler in the event.....judges said the third day wasn't going to change the outcome. Hoodie was the clear winner.
