DT 1850
DT 1850
For over two months I have been debating on what collar to purschase and I finally decided to go with the DT 1850 and it is everything I wanted in a collar. The main thing was I wanted to control the beeper from the transmitter and this unit lets me turn on and off, change from run/point to just point and then has a seperate locate button. I am very excited to get this unit out and use it in the field. Lifetime warrently and price was a push for me as well.
Re: DT 1850
Did you get a 2 dog model? I was wondering if the beeper for each collar has or can be set to a different beep so you can differenciate between dogs? Does the intensity dial have detent or clicks so you can adjust it w/o looking at it? Thanks for any info you can pass along.

Re: DT 1850
You cannot tell what level you are on with the dial and with gloves it is kind of a pain to turn. I don't need to move the level, I have it set on 3-4 and when I do have to use it, it gets his attention. My dog is 3 going on 4 in Feb. so he has been around collars before and knows better. If I had a new dog I could see how it could be a pain. As far as two dog units, I just have the one, couldn't tell you. I don't have my beeper going on run/point, I just use the locator when I can't see him or loose track of him for a second. Thats really the big advantage I wanted, being able to locate him, before I had to stop and listen for grass and when the wind is blowing 50mph it was impossible.
Range is really good on this thing as well.

Buckwildbirddogs,
I am presently testing the new DT Systems T&B H20 for a major distributor. So far the unit is doing very well can you tell me how you were using your Collar when the Beeper unit failed, your input would be greatly appreciated. So far I have had no such problem with my T&B H20 Multi Collar unit.
