Water Bucket Heaters?

Every bucket heater I have had has been destroyed by mans best friend. Am now looking at the Nelson brand that goes on the end of a pipe that you mount to the kennel. Has anyone ever used one of these and how did it work? Just wondering before I give in and order one out of the blue!

Used them for cattle and hogs for years but never for a dog. They are a good product but no sure you need them for a dog if you water it twice a day when it is cold.

I'm gone from 7 to whenever 5 days a week Ezzy and I feed and water twice daily! I want my dog to have water 24/7, metal buckets freeze pretty fast during my working hours it seems. I figure better safe than sorry!

I have 3. They are GREAT!! You will be pleased. Just don't over tighten the top clamp. And make sure to leave the hook pointing down on the clamp.

I bought some plastic heated buckets from Tractor Supply about 5 years ago and found them very reliable. They sell for $25.
I fasten them to the chain link with double ended swivel snaps and have never had them tipped over. The is a few bite marks after all these years, but no real chewing. My friend uses the same buckets for their goats. The water remains ice free at temps well below 0.

I am on my third winter with the Nelson heaters and I love them. I bought them on sale for $39.00 and it was the best money I've spent on the dogs. I have one chewer who must use a metal bucket but I position buckets and heaters a corner of the kennel and I have never had a chew mark.
