Traditions 209 primer pistol?

Post by bmcox86 » Fri Jun 01, 2012 2:51 pm

Anyone have experience with the traditions 209 primer pistol. A local shop has it for 80 bucks and didn't know if it was worth it or not.

Thanks

I think that is by KIMAR.

If so, I have had 3 of them. Each one failed in the same spot, the transfer bar between the hammer and the firing pin... which broke off.

According to the company, the broken part would have cost more to fix than I paid for the gun, which I knew was a bunch of BS, but there it is.

The good news was that it took somewhere between 800 to 1000 rounds before the transfer bar broke off, so if you don't use it extensively, it should last several years.

Find yourself a NEF in 22 caliber and get some #2 Ramset loads. If you don't lose the gun, or the cylinder pin, you will be able to give it to your great grandson.

or if he is not interested you could sell it for what you paid.
