Re: remington 11-87
I have an 1187 premier light contour, it is a nice gun never had many problems with it, the factory blueing was not very good it pitted easily, even with frequent cleaning, wiping down. Nice gun I would reccomend if you get one go ahead and pick up an extra O-ring for the tube, cheap and inexpensive insurance in the field.
Good Luck

I own 2, have had one for over 15 years parkerized 28" Barrel with 3 in chamber. thousands of rounds put through it replaced the o-ring once other than that only thing done was cleaning. Bought the second one a couple of years ago went with a camo finish & 28" Barrel with 3.5 in chamber, no problems. Hunt alot of waterfowl never had trouble with either gun wet muddy or otherwise, just make sure you clean them regularly they will function fine.

What's your reason for wanting it? Is it up against anything else, like 11-87 or blank? Newer remingtons make me a little nervous but my dogs name is Remington so.... I personally like the 11-87 every one I shot worked great and when it needed to, however, I don't own one...yet!

Re: remington 11-87
Whenever I see a nice older one at a decent price I'm all over it. I shoot benelli, Beretta, franchi autos now but there's nothing wrong with 1187, 1100 s other than a little heavy compared to the Italian guns. Corvettes and Ferraris.
That being said the new Remingtons have had a few recalls and reliability problems. My buddy with a versamax is looking for a new gun to buy now that his is on its second return. Make it easy buy an older one...

The 1187 is a solid gun, the new Versamax is a better gun though.

I have one right now, love it, no complaints, probably the only shotgun i will ever have
My goal in life is to be as good of a person my dog already thinks I am.
Re: remington 11-87
It is a fine gun. Don't tell my wife, but in truth it is the only gun I really need. So if you buy it you will not even need to look at other guns, what fun is that?
In fact I find this depressing, thanks a lot!
