Re: Sportdog TEK 1.0
Two of my hunting partners had them. They had a lot of trouble with them holding up.
Both of them replace them with Garmin equipment.
I have heard some people say that they like them and they work well. In fact my hunting partners like them when they worked, the they failed a lot.

I have a Tek 2. I've only had it for a month but I like it. It does way more than I need. I find I am only using three functions, the GPS Map, Compass and the momentary stimulation.
They are basically an Android phone with all the apps.

I've got a 1.0... I haven't had issues with it, but a number of have.
All I use it for is stimulation and occasional glances at the GPS.

I have English Pointers because they don't ever grow up either...

I bought a new one, worked terrible. Bought another and returned the original. Still terrible functioning of losing GPS signal in fields and open woods. Sent it back and got an astro 320 and DC-40 . New England summer thickets, tight canopy, ravines , low ceilings with heavy snow has never been a problem since getting the astro. Just my experience though in the grouse/woodcock woods.
