GWP's don't need a wintewr dog coat I wouldn't think. Any I have ever seen hve much more problem with heat than they do cold.

It's not how many breaths you have taken but how many times it has been taken away!

Has anyone noticed common sense isn't very common anymore.

I'd be interesting in this as well. I have two GSPs and with it dipping into the -40 range in the winter I'd like something to keep them warm enough to be able to get some outside activity rather than being couped up in the house.

Sure, but Celcius and Fahrenheit meet at -40 anyway so you can read it either way (it's why I didn't specify).

We have the horse type blanket for our GSP's and our APBT. They do dock jumping indoors in VERY cold water all weekend so this is how we keep them worm between jumps. Works VERY well!

I will be honest I don't remembre who I got it from. But I looked at the above website and I will probably go there for my next one. More color selection and choices along with a more customer fit!

I don't like the idea of running a dog with a blanket on but they sound like they would be good for a dog sitting in a blind if they are wet.

Yeah we don't run ours with theirs on at all! Like today we went duck hunting and for my GSP it was cold out there when we got back to the car at night and he was wet. So on went his winter parka. Stopped shivvering in a matter of a minute. Also like I mentioned we put ours on after dock jumping rounds when the pool whater is maybe 30 digrees and such. Plus we put heaters on them too! My GSP kids are spoiled though so..... Oh well. :-)

You can also check out www.chillydogs.ca/ and www.k9topcoat.com. Both have coats for the hard to fit deep chested dogs and others as well. (May need to google the website because I don't know if I have them exactly right.)
