Opinions on Sport Dog 1850 and 1800
Can I get your opinions on these collars? I have a tri -tronics now but am looking to do a dog lifetime membership with PF and would be able to choose which one to get.I want to make sure I would actualy like the collar before I decide though as I had a SD 400 and didn't like it at all! Thanks!

i have the 1850, and i love it. havent been actual "hunting" with it yet but it has worked great so far in pre-season training/running/etc. BUT, i had a 400 also and loved it too. i like doing business with Sportdog, as they sent me a new transmitter (for the 400) no questions asked when mine gave me problems after about a year. no problems with the 1850.
i have the 1800 and love it. good range, nice settings, and plenty of levels. you can run up to 3 collars on it. i have only two dogs, so i like how you can set the transmitter up with a "hot button" on continuous. my male takes more pressure than my female. i can nick manually with continous, but the hot button is automatically two hight than level chosen. works great for me. my male takes exactly two levels up from female. good size for lanyard, pocket, or belt. haven't had problems with it and if you do SD will change it out for free for life.
1800
I got an 1800 as a gift. I really like it. I run two dogs, and it works really well. Sportdog customer service is great also. I purchased an add-a collar for my SD 1200, and the new collar would not take the signal from the transmitter. I called Sportdog on Monday, and the following Wednesday I had the replacement.
