Avatar picture

Can someone help us with our avatar picture? It is way to big to post and we don't know how to shrink it down.

Open it up in any photo editor click on view and select resize then change it to like 30% and see how big it is, remember to save the new one not the original. or email it to me Tony

I cant figure out how to post pics on this forum. Any help would be great I dont have any fancy computer system just the standard windows XP

Zigzag, if you're asking how to post photos in a reply/message (vs. creating an "avatar" image), you would click on the UPLOAD ATTACHMENT tab located beneath the message you're editing, use the BROWSE button to find the image on your computer that you want to upload, once found and selected click ADD THE FILE button, then you'll notice a section appears entitled POSTED ATTACHMENTS underneath your message -- put the cursor in your message where you want the image to appear, then click on the PLACE INLINE button (in the POSTED ATTACHMENTS tab) to place the image (link) into your message. Once you use PREVIEW or SUBMIT you'll see your image in the message! Please preview your message to check how large the uploaded image appears before clicking the SUBMIT button... if the image is too large, edit it on your PC first, then re-upload it into your message. Hope this helps.

I'm trying to upload a avatar picture but can't get it done. I have the file small as 38kb and use 200pixels x 200pixels as suggested but still can't get it done. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. ANy help out there?

Be sure that you're logged in to GDF
Click on USER CONTROL PANEL link located at the upper left of screen under the GUN DOG FORUM BOARD INDEX link (under the GDF logo)
Click on the PROFILE tab
Click on EDIT AVITAR tab
Click the "Browse" button to the far right of the "Upload from your machine:" line
Search your PC for the image you want to load (Maximum dimensions; width: 210 pixels, height: 210 pixels, file size: 292.97 KB)
Once you find and highlight the image you want to upload, click the SUBMIT button

That *should* do it

I did all that but still saying that the size is to big. I have the file down to 97kb and dimensions as low as 50pixels and nothing! Not sure if my computer or just me. Don't know what else to do !

I'm having the same problem... can't seem to get the photo to resize. It's in photobucket as well as on my mac.
help???? have done this before but can't seem to get anything to work this time.

I have the picture I want to use down sized at photobucket but now can't/don't remember what all I need to put on it to make my avatar picture show up. Any help would be appreciated. Everything changes, before photobucket would tell you what to us for profile/avatar pictures now nothing. I worked and worked and finally got photo's up on posts. Guess I shouldn't stay away so long. LOL

I want to download an Avatar pic but when I go into "Edit Avatar" there is no "Browse" button or "Upload from your machine" line.
