Beta GDF webpages

Go to: http://www.gundogforum.com and use the login link on the bottom left to login.

Once you do that, you should see a box on the *homepage* menu that says that you need to activate your webpage. Once you do that, you should be able to add and remove pages, etc. To add pics, post the pics on GDF album, then link to them. There is a button on the editing page that should make adding and *resizing* images easy...

Just post to this thread to report bugs for now...

You might have to click the login button vs. just hitting enter. Try that...

Thanks, your site looks good also!

Looks like the pictures are making the menu freak.... I may need to make the page wider...

Ok,

When your editing a page, you can click on a picture with your mouse. Then, your able to click and drag the corner to resize the pic. That way, the pictures do not eat into the nav. menu.

Is everyone able to edit their pages? You'll need javascript enabled on your browser.

Grant......FABULOUS.

I sent you an email, but looks like you got your hands full. Somehow I managed to delete some default settings from the page #894. I thought I could figure it out, but all I am doing is running up the number of hits trying to fix it. Can you just delete the entire page so I can start from scratch? Or can defaults be reset. As it is right now I can't get photos to it or do anything with it..........Thanks

OK.........got it.

In regards to adding photos. Do I just use the "add image" button? Will they upload from my computer or do they need to be on the site photo page first?
Size? Do photos have to be resized or is it automatic? Sorry to use so much time, but unless you do it a lot the process of getting photos from one location to the other can be confusing.

Great!

You upload photos to you album first. Then you can link to and resize them from the edit page...

I've got to fix a bug sometime today. Basically, if a regular member deletes their page, a new one can't be created. They should be able to....

You make it sound all so simple.....fixing bugs etc. That's where I went off course. I tried to delete the whole page completely. Ended up deleting parts but not the page itself.

Grant,
This is going great...question for you. Is there a way that we can rearrange the order of our navigation buttons on the left (Obviously keeping Gun Dog Forum on the bottom)? - Greg

Fixed... Anyone with one page does not have the ability to delete it.

I am having difficulty posting pictures on the webpage. It doesn't seem to be an option on my edit page. And when I drag it over it just shows the http address. Do I need the premier membership? I was planning on doing that soon anyway....

No in the top of where you type there are little icons (ei a globe, chain, etc) one of them is an image link. CLick it and enter the http address of ur picture and hit ok.

Great job Grant. What a unique thing to do. I played with making one last night. I'll have to get some $ in so I can have more pages. Very cool!

I tried finding a way to have thumbnails. There would be several ways to do it. You know more than I. I tried putting one in like this from imageshack.
Image
It wouldn't allow code like that. Plus it links you out to another site when you click on the image, you might not want that anyway.

Then I tried just making a small picture, but it wouldn't let me turn a picture into a link.

Anyway, long story there. It would be cool to have the ability to make thumbnails so a person could list several photos.

In the webpage? Is so, insert a pic into your webpage body by clicking on the button that looks like this:

Image

A popup will appear and put the url in that box.

Once the pic is in the body, you can click on it a resize it with your mouse...

I'll have instructions maybe tomorrow.

Yeah, that did make a smaller picture for me.
http://www.gundogforum.com/members/75/
but, it won't let me link it anywhere so when someone clicks on it, they can view the larger picture. Does that make sense??

by mountaindogs
Nope - checked again and I don't have any icons at all anywhere on the edit page area. And in fact the image that grant posted :

"In the webpage? Is so, insert a pic into your webpage body by clicking on the button that looks like this:

A popup will appear and put the url in that box. "

I also see no image. Am I missing or have incompatible software do you think?
