How do I post pictures?

Post by Fran Seagren » Fri Dec 14, 2012 7:06 pm

I'm pretty sure there is a place on this website with the answer to my subject/question, but I'll be darned if I can find it! So, I apologize for asking a question that has probably been asked a "MILLION" times already.

Thanks.

The second kick from a mule is of very little educational value - from Wing and Shot.

Thanks for the information. But, once I went to the "photo bucket" website and started the sign up process, I jumped ship when they required my birthdate. Not that my age has ever been a secret, but "birthdate" starts getting into personal information. So, I guess I won't be posting any dog or hunting pics unless I use my avatar.

Hi,

I'm not sure what you mean by "I won't be posting any dog or hunting pictures unless I use my avatar"???

Here's the section from the previously mentioned thread where I outlined how to post a picture:
When you post a msg/reply, just below the area where you enter the text (below the "save/preview/submit" buttons) there are two tabs: "Options" & "Upload attachment". Click on "Upload attachment". You will get a dialog box that says "if you wish to attach one of more files enter the details below". There is a place to enter the "Filename" or you can browse your PC by clicking on the "Browse" button). Then you hit the "Add the file" button.

Generally when uploading photos to boards they need to be small: less than 200kb. I don't recall the restrictions here but you may need to resize your photo(s) if they are too large.
IOW, Photobucket is not the only option to put up pictures; you can upload them directly from your computer.

Dear SubMariner - Thanks. I will try the sizing you mentioning (200kb). Previously, I had tried to upload a photo from my computer, but when I viewed my post and picture before sending, the picture was HUGE! I didn't know what size the pictures should be.

You don't have to put your real birthdate. Just make sure you put one in that makes you over 18.
