Top Gun All Hail Angus

Post by Will » Tue Sep 16, 2008 7:40 am

My Angus has succumbed to the effects and treatment of blastomycosis. He was first diagnosed on Sept. 4, 2008 and began treatment that day. He died in my arms this morning while taking his medication.

Some here have seen these pics before as I was a proud papa...I posted pics sometimes to show him off.

This is how I will always remember my Angus.

A few pictures of Angus over his 18mo with us...the things I will always have and remember.

5 weeks old and scared of the world...but curious: http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u171 ... rmale2.jpg

1st day home at 8 weeks old...not so scared...but still curious about big sister: http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u171 ... 010402.jpg

What a long trip...time for a nap: http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u171 ... 010409.jpg

10 weeks old and exploring: http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u171 ... ks020A.jpg

20 weeks old training on live birds: http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u171 ... ks001A.jpg

Angus' first opening day..a day's limit at only 8mo old: http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u171 ... hoto/1.jpg

9mo old in South Dakota on wild pheasant: http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u171 ... to/SD1.jpg

His last hunt in March on preserve birds pinning down a pheasant: http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u171 ... to/2-1.jpg

Thank you for sharing my memories of my boy. These will be hard to ever re-create.

It's a hard pill to swallow but always remember the good times you had together. They will always mean so much. And thank God that Angus was in your home where he was loved and taken care of in sickness and in health. That more than many dogs or people ever experience.

It's not how many breaths you have taken but how many times it has been taken away!

Has anyone noticed common sense isn't very common anymore.

Will,
I can not tell you much I can sympathize with your situation. I recently have had a young dog go through some health problems as well, very serious at some points. That is the toughest situation that a dog owner has to go through. I hope you keep your spirits up, remember the good times and remember him as the good hunter that he was.

My most sincere condolences,
Brandon

This really saddens me as I felt as if I really got to know Angus from the correspondence I had with Will from time to time. We traded PM's on training, hunting and just some everyday things with our two growing pups. Angus and my pup are out of the same breeder so it was fun comparing the similiarities of these two well bred pups. I know that there are no words that can be said to ease the pain, only remembering the good times you had during Angus's short time here and knowing that he is no longer suffering and in a better place.

MY deepest sympathies, Tom

So, so sorry too hear. Certainly a hard thing to take. ..."pear"

I'm sorry to hear about your loss. Been through it too often. In time, you'll find yourself ready to make new memories, with a new friend; but the one's you have won't ever leave.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Angus was beautiful and talented for a younster. It is a blessing that you were able to be there for his final moments, even though it might not feel that way right now. You will always be together in spirit. Best wishes. Denise
