10x NSTRA CH Snips Ticked Off SH

Post by snips » Thu Sep 25, 2008 1:18 pm

Just not my year...Sept 21 1991-Sept 25 2008....Anyone that knew Rip knew he was a not only a 10 x CH in NSTRA, but in life. He spent many years at our sides, even years after he retired. His mug was the first thing we'd see every time we opened the van door. And the first thing we'd see walking in the house. We will see his face running to grab his toys for years to come. His heart was the biggest I have seen, he just could not give up on life. Here's to you old man............ :cry:Image One of our more memorable trialsin Mt.:):)

Sorry to hear he finally left us but I guess we knew it was coming. He stuck around as long as he could and now has gone to a place where he can be young again. What a life he had.

Brenda, so sorry for your loss. You do not probably know me from Adam, but when I started trialing in NSTRA 8+ years ago, you and Rip were some of the first ones I would follow! Sorry to hear of his passing.

Brenda, you recently consoled me on the loss of my old-timer, you have my deepest condolences on your loss. One would think that losing one well up in years would be easier, but its not. Try to look at it from the standpoint that you have even more great memories than most.

Oh my gosh Brenda. So sorry to hear about Rip. Jamie and I send our prayers to you and the family. We both still remember when we visited once, him falling asleep on your couch, legs up in the air and proud as a pig in mud. We both laughed most of the way home. Please let us know if you need anything.

Brenda:

Very sorry to hear about your loss. Rip will be sorely missed and our family sends our condolences.

I have one of his sons and a grandson...they are both the most wonderful dogs a person could ask for.

I am hoping that the big guy is running free in a big field full of birds right now.

Hang in there...Dennis

Thanks so much guys and gals. I think anyone that knew Rip went away better for it in some way. There was no dog I have known before or since that was happier day to day and loved people like he did. If they walked in my house he had a toy for them to play with him. When I turned him loose in competition he was more serious than the toughest competitor. Rip and I competited as a team for 8-9 years, he was like running a cadillac, he seemed to be an extension of me. He was Hi Point Dog in Ga for 3 years and won the Ga Region 2 times. One year he finished the yr with 59 NSTRA points. The only thing good about retiring him was I had his son Logan to run:) I miss both of them.

Sorry to read this Brenda. As someone who had the pleasure of meeting Rip in his senior years he truly was a grand old man. You guys were lucky to have each other and I know he knew he had the best life a bird dog could ever have with you and Rick.

God bless!
