White Chris Miss 1997-2009

Post by ymepointer » Sun Dec 13, 2009 9:09 pm

I had to say goodbye to Mattie this evening. She was a real stem winder of a pointer. I lost her many many times as her motor just carried her to far distant places. She didn't make it around most trial courses but she always gave it her all. I got her from Dr. Art Griswold of Paris Mo. She was a Daughter of Whippoorwill Wildcard X Millers Sparkle. We burried her on a bed of fresh ruffed grouse feathers and layed a pair of grouse wings and a fan along with a fresh Ponderosa Pine bough at her feet. My five year old daughter took it pretty hard this evening as we said a prayer over her grave.

My Condolences. No matter how you look at it, it's always a difficult situation letting your dog go, and unless you have had the oppotunity to care for and love one of these special creatures...it's hard to understand. It sounds like you gave your Mattie a great send off, and I'm sure she is running the eternal course now, and making it around clean every single time.

So once again she got away from you but this time you know she is safe and you will find her where she is waiting for you. Hold on to the special memories that she left you with till you get there with her.

It's not how many breaths you have taken but how many times it has been taken away!

Has anyone noticed common sense isn't very common anymore.

My deepest sympathies to you and your family in your loss. It is never an easy thing...outliving our beloved canines. May all of the memories made in her lifetime serve as your comfort now.
Blessed Be.
