Lost my birddog "Kacey" this morning. She was my first birddog. Kacey would have been 15 years old on the 15th of this month. She lived a wonderful and fullfilled life afield and at home. Lots of memories with that ol girl. As hard as it is to see them go, I am thankful she passed in her sleep and was still happy and vibrant at her old age. Godspeed, Kace.

Sorry for your loss. The first has to be the hardest to see go. Remember all the good times!

Maybe I am weird, but I've been rather okay with it... She'd been retired for a few years and although she had the heart for it, she didn't have the legs to go like that anymore. Around the house (at my parents, where she stayed and slept with my mom - ) she would run and you'd never know she was almost fifteen. Some days were better than others though.

I am just so happy she lived a full life, wasn't living miserably, and went peacefully. The best thing is knowing she has a revived youthful spirit, and is hunting again. :D

Amen. Took me several months to get over the loss of my pal. She was fifteen.
Although we are so blessed having them in our lives, letting them go isn't always as easy
for some of us. Sorry for your loss.

RIP Kace.
