Phoebe...

Post by JuliaH » Sun Nov 13, 2011 6:26 am

She has been gone a while now, but she will never be forgotten. Phoebe was 14 years and 1 month when her time came. The old girl's body gave out before her will did, so we took her for that last ride to the vet...

We wrote a small tribute to her, and she is still on our website...

Sometimes there comes along a good dog, a special dog. All of them are wonderful, but these special ones have a place in your heart that is saved for the best...

Liebmeister Miss Phoebe was such a lady. She was all business in the field, a sweetheart to know and a bird dog that anyone would be proud to hunt with. She had hunted with important people and just regular folks. She had hunted with Field Champions and National Champions as well as with dogs not so well known. She knew how to handle wild birds and pen raised birds. She just loved to hunt birds!

She came to be with us when she was 11 years old, and was feisty and lively enough that you would not know her age, except to look at her birthdate on her registration papers.

Her attitude was always...
Where are the birds?
Is this the best you got for me?
I can outdo any other dog you got lady!

I came to love her, to know her well and to enjoy her company. Today, sadly, she left us and I am sure she is in doggy heaven beating the bushes for those wild quail that are there already waiting for her!

We miss her ever so much....

Hi Brenda,

Thanks... She was a wonderful old dog and loved nothing more than hunting birds!
