PMI Red Flannel dog food
My local feed store has quit carrying Black Gold and seems to be going to PMI Red Flannel as their only line of dog food. I know Purina Mills is an old company but I have limited experience with them. They are carrying the complete PMI line. Orsheln's is the only other feed store in town and they want $18.49 for 40lbs. of Diamond green. I don't want to travel out of town due to time and fuel cost. I am not wanting another dog food war type thread, just need some experiences with PMI shared by others. Thanks.

I use this too. The feed store had a chart to show which red flannel to use in its place. You may have to ask for it tho. High protein gets runnys so I use the exclusive.but I do use the PMI Exclusive

I changed a couple of months ago from the 26/18 black gold (blck bag) to the 26/18 red flannel and had really good results. The red flannels main ingredient is chicken so I believe the stool is a little better. The only problem with the red flannel is the price jumped from $19 a bag to $24 recently.
Still 19 here and if I buy 6 I get one free$19 a bag to $24 recently

Is this red flannel suppose to be the same quality as purinas pro plan? Do they make it to compete with Diamond,Country Vet, and Blackgold? I guess I have not seen this in my area and would like to check it out. anymore info would be great. The buy 6 get 1 free sound like a good deal. I know that Country Vet offers a buy 10 get 1 free deal. Any other kennel programs out there?

Big Dave, I have switched my dogs to CV from Diamond and like the results, they also have a breeder program, Buy 10 get 1 free. I have them on the premium active adult 26/18 and my test and trial dogs/guiding dogs the dog fuel 32/20 when they are getting worked hard. Plain and simple I like it.

PMI Red Flannel 26-18 is forty eight cents a pound, Country Vet 26-18 is 46 cents and Diamond is 46 cents. The last Black Gold 26-18 that I bought was 42 cents and that was a couple of months ago. I may try the PMI with the buy 6 bags get a bag and the fact that I buy other things at the store that carries it.
Thanks for the input.
