Heading out there tomorrow, just heard they are running an out and back course and only 6 a day. At that rate, they will run the non retrieving stake till at least Monday. Also heard there have been more than a few birdless dogs.

The retrieving stake starts on Thursday. Have plane reservations home for next Tuesday.... if we should get through to the second go round, I may have to change reservations!

Looking forward to it!

Had a dog run yesterday and had 2 nonproductives and pick him up after the second np. Tracks everywhere but no bird produced. The scout rode over the hill on the second and flushed wild birds, oh well. Today sounded like it got very windy and they stopped after 2 braces.

As of last night Windee is still gone.

I have been coming and going as work has to take priority over the field trial. So I havent ridden many braces. In the Non Retrieving I know of two dogs that "might" be making some money. One is a wirehair that I believe was handled by Dave Lachance that had 5 finds and a good forward race and the other was Lou Tonelli's dog "Sky" handled by Terry Zygalinski with 8 finds and a good forward race. These are the only two dogs that I have heard of that did well and is not to exclude others that might have done well also.

The Retrieving has quite a few dogs that are getting around clean with a few finds so until they anounce the second series its hard to say who might be making any money.

Just got some information that there are 16 dogs back for the 2nd series in the retrieve. Hoke has 2, Scully and Razor and Brian Hill has 3.

All I know, sorry

Don't have the details yet, but saw on the Brittany List that Paul Diron took 3 placements with Britts in the Non-Retrieving Stake, first with Blazing Shane, third with Megasmoke Grand Finale and fourth with MTB'S CaboRita de Scipio.

Second went to a GSP.

Congratulations to Paul, he had a great trial, 5 of 8 placements is tough!

Doiron's "Shane" dog must have really put down one heck of a show. It is not very often that the same dog places in both stakes, is it? There were 100 entries in the retrieving stake and 103 in the non retrieving stake. Good show !!!!

As of yesterday Windee is still wandering the hills of Reno, somewhere. She has a collar on with LaChances phone number, so with any luck.....

If anyone lives in that area, maybe they could take a look in the local animal shelters from time to time to see if she shows up there. Someone may have picked her up thinking they found a nice bird dog, but decide not to keep her.

There is another regional trial being held on those grounds this weekend so if she does come in at least she will have found safe haven. The GSPCR officers need to know that Windee is missing ( which I''m sure that they do) so that everyone can be on the look out. The BAD part of a dog gone this long on those grounds are the coyotes and of course people who recreate up there who indeed think they have found themselves a nice bird dog.

True story....from just a couple of years ago.....dog went missing on the all age course out there and over the course of several hours, was TRACKED by her tracking Collar signal several miles up. When she was finally found, the Collar was not on the dog but was instead on the front seat of the truck and she was tied to it's bumper!!!! The gentlemen who found her had every intention of KEEPING her! The Dog was FC Lane's End Jess N Time and Cary just about KILLED those hunters when he found his dog had been stripped of her ID and was getting ready to head home with strangers.

Dave Le Chance is no stranger to those grounds....I'm sure that if Windee can be found she WILL be found.
