Brittany Pals

Post by gar-dog » Sun Jun 01, 2008 3:27 pm

Here is Ginger and our neighbor Simon. He is two months younger. Simon (on right) is from show stock, and is a nice, blocky Brit with a really nice coat. Ginger is from field trial stock and leggier with a little narrower snout and short coat. Otherwise they look alot alike - down to the markings.

Gardog, Great photos. Ginger has grown into a beautiful dog! I'm sure she's happy to have Simon next door.

Show stock? pfft! If I'm not mistaken, Simon is my Blaze's nephew. :D :D

Simon's owner is pretty much my best friend up here in the Northeast, and his family fell in love with Ginger so they decided to get a Brittany. I got this guy out shooting sporting clays - first time with a shotgun - and he nailed at least 60-70%. He was a true natural. I am working him on the hunting, and he has a "wife pass" to go hunting with me, but he has to do hunter education. I am hoping that comes through and we have a brace of dogs to hunt over.

Gar Dog--Both dogs are beautiful. I can't claim to know anything about Britts, but seeing them together, I'd have assumed they were littermates. That's cool that you have 2 dogs near the same age to play and train together.........and a friend to hunt with. Denise

Gary, have you seen Angel AKA Daisy in your neighborhood yet? Liver/White Brittany around 6 yrs old...corner of Sagamore? She's also very good with other dogs if you're ever looking for another playmate for Ginger.

Yup, she was my last foster who was adopted on Mother's Day. Heard from her new family yesterday that she was doing great! I believe they've met Simon before...said something about a new Brittany pup in the neighborhood from a show breeder.

Cute - all curled up. I just love dogs - what great animals!

I also like pictures of some of these big, mottled, lopey GSPs with their long legs all curled up and lounging on a sofa... looking into the camera all non-chalant.

Interesting. Is this the one you had just gotten when we were down at the Setter Club? PM me their name if you like. Sagamore is not far from me, but for some reason that section goes to Berkeley heights schools so I might not know them (seems like everyone I know is via the kids knowing each other).

this is one of my absolute favorite baby pics of Chloe with Courage. Courage will be 8 yrs old next month, but he is just the perfect puppy sitter!

And here's Blaze, Zachie & Courage all sacked out after a hard day of playing in the yard:
